As long as the people running college football can manage to avoid screwing up the sport beyond the pale, I’ll keep posting this wonderful Stephen Fry clip to celebrate the start of another season.
Call it cockeyed optimism.

I hadn’t watched that in some time. Thanks for the annual opportunity to “remember” why we care.

I may get my head chopped off, but I’d rather see a UGA video for inspiration and excitement. A competitor’s vid doesn’t do it for me. YMMV

This officially starts the season for me, thanks Senator! I think it’s easy to overlook how spectacular this sport is and how special it is to us in this country. Proud to be an American!

Senator,
I think you need to go across the pond and do a similar video from a match at Liverpool or Barcelona as a comparison. 😉

“This fixture has the scale, intensity and hoopla of a grand national final, but is in reality nothing more than a local derby between amateur students.”
That line cracks me up every time.

Yall smokin’ already? Since it’s beer-thirty on Fri of football season, I’ll join you with a good craft beer, but the ganja comes much later near bedtime. The 28% THC stuff now in my stash is not to be messed with until after I’m home and it’s sleepy-TV time. It doesn’t hurt my driving, but trying to remember events at a social gathering (like a football game) affects total enjoyment, although I may carry some weaker smoke (just in case). Down here there are places you travel that are unfamiliar because of the changed landscape from Hurricane Michael; add loss of daylight and ganja and it’s possible to attract attention when confused. It isn’t cool to play with karma nor to rub local law enforcement the wrong way.
