TFW you really don’t want to pay that coach’s buyout

Gotta love Auburn.

Money well spent, as far as Gus is concerned.

I think we clear something like $2.5 million for a home game? Is that right? It’s been awhile since I’ve seen a number. $2.35 million for two games nobody really wants to see.

You know, that’s not really true because I do quite enjoy relaxing in Sanford Stadium, cocktail in hand, and the game well decided. I’d rather be feeling that good against the likes of P5 teams, but hey what can you do?

Also, tech is paying El Cid $400,000. It’s going to be major LOLs when the Bulldogs roll them with the triple option… I almost wish I could go to watch.

I recall a few years ago when we were having these discussions about teams breaking the $1M payout. Now we’re fixin’ to reach the $2M payout. These prices have escalated as fast as head coaching salaries. Things that make you go Hmmm…

Is my math so off on this? Doesnt UGA clear something like 2.5-3million on the cocktail party. And teams like Tulane are getting nearly $2mm? UGA will pay Arkansas State $1.8mm.

Is UGA really not able to get more money from the Cocktail Party?

    • In a new contract with the city, likely yes. Of course, that means the city is likely to pass that through in ticket prices (I have no idea if the city sets the ticket price or works with the schools to set the price).

I’m fairly certain the schools set the ticket prices. I remember a few years ago UF wanted to bump up the price for club level tickets to $200 – $250 and UGA balked at it. Can’t remember the reason why, but think it was around the time McGoofy was raising donation requirements and home game ticket prices, so that would be like throwing gasoline on the fire.

Wow nearly 4 million – that is an expensive fire proof cushion for the hot seat Gus is sitting on.

If I’m reading this chart right UCLA is only getting paid $400K for playing at Cincy. WTF?
