Don’t stop believin’.

Apparently, Dawgnation is putting its money where its mouth is.

The college football regular season is believed to be a formality, a four-month race that will inevitably end with Alabama and Clemson meeting again for the national championship.

Bettors, however, disagree. They’re invested heavily in Georgia being very much in the mix come January.

A survey of eight U.S. sportsbooks from around the nation showed that the Bulldogs have attracted just as much money from bettors as Alabama or Clemson to win the national championship — and, at some books, more.

More money has been bet on Georgia to win the national title than has been wagered on any other team at Caesars Sportsbook and DraftKings. There are more bets placed on the Bulldogs to win it all than any team at William Hill’s over 100 sportsbooks in Nevada, New Jersey, Iowa and West Virginia.

Hope that ends well for all concerned.

I placed my wager months ago at Caesars.

Better return because of the odds – no?

Yeah, probably the best value pick out there. But, that being said, serious bettors don’t just throw money at the wall and see what sticks. A lot of them at least feel the odds of Georgia winning the NCG are greater than the 12-15% that the betting odds suggest.

How many wagers for us to win the SECC? That’s what bothers me most about this season. We could beat Bama in the SECC and turn around and lose to them in the Playoffs and have the season deemed a failure. BTW, I’m not excluding myself from that possible reaction. It just seems wrong to have to potentially get through them twice to win it all. I guess we can only hope for the day when the Bammers feel the same way — hey, it might be that way for some of them now.

That would only be deemed a failure by the irrational among us, and that is a sizable group unfortunately. I am with the comments above, UGA is not the betting favorite on a level playing field but the best value pick for sure. We are capable of being excellent, and not winning the SEC and/or getting into the playoff at all. Best team doesn’t win all the time.

I think we are equal with the other favorites. maybe better. We are also as good a team as there is in CFB this year, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see us make it all the way. Having been robbed of one and not invited to the others, we are overdue to get a few breaks to complement our talent. And that is why we are the best bet to those risking their money, the investment will return much more.

Senator, have you seen the national title rsvp prices? You pay money up front for the right to purchase face value tickets if your team makes it. They just opened up today and Georgia’s shot up to $275. $50 higher than Clemson or Bama.

The old adage, “Know how to end up with a million bucks betting on Georgia football? Start with two million!” comes to mind…

    500.00 at 6/1 Dawgs NC
500.00 at 20/1 LSU NC (had to at those odds they will win the west)

Dude, I’m a Dawg with LSU ancestry. If LSU and UGA meet up in the SECCG with that kind of coin on the line? This is why I don’t gamble. Wouldn’t want to compromise my principles……
