As much as I prefer cable over streaming, Comcast has decided to to carry ACCN at this time. I’ll have to find a pirated stream to watch this beat down.

I’m curious as to how ESPN or another biggie let the National Championship team’s opener get picked up by the ACC network.

Given the status of ACC football, the conference would have had more leverage negotiating these media contracts closer to basketball or spring sports time. ACC is so devoid of football talent/matchups imagine what will be relegated to the network channel during CFB season.

If Clemson doesn’t cover that I’m driving to Anderson tonight and taking a big dump at the Wal Mart and not even flushing

Especially if it’s an upper deck.

God I haven’t heard that phrase since I lived in Athens. Ruthless. How the hell did somebody come up with that to begin with is what I want to know.

            How old is that expression?

I know some guys that gave it to a roommate that they despised. This was in Athens in the late 90’s so at least 20 years…

It’s new to me. My son called while I was on this site and when I laughed he asked about it, I read the post by NM to show how banal our humor gets here and he told me about an “upper deck”. Told him I was writing it in and he laughs about older people carrying on like teenagers. We laugh a lot together and you should remember that he calls me on Mother’s Day because I’m the biggest mutha’ he knows. I’m proud that my son doesn’t parse the little shit and has a great sense of humor. He’s living a dream in Montana, takes care of a lot of people with outdoor adventures in his spare time, has an excellent relationship with the owner of the business he runs and never looks back. He has done things I only talk about (skydive, can take an antelope with bow and arrow) and when I worry about him, he laughs about finding bear scat with bells and that smells like pepper spray.

  5. The other day somebody on here referred to this game as a seal clubbing, and I can’t stop laughing about it.

I read an article yesterday by Steven Godfrey about Collins at Tech that was basically about the things that Collins has done that would upset a “regular” college football fan. It highlighted Collins’ efforts at making Tech cool because recruiting, etc.
I am biased because of the 10 most miserable UGA loses of my life as a fan 4-5 of those are loses to Tech. The 1998-2000 games and 2008 and 2016 really stand out with the Auburn 2010, 2013 and 2017 games also making the list. But despite Collins attempt at engineering swag, I have still seen nothing in my 30 years as a UGA fan to make me believe that Tech can do anything that will make them competitive with UGA when UGA is spending money wisely, hiring the right coaches and/ or even keeping the ship upright. I actually think that Paul Johnson was the best that they could do and that their game tonight versus Clemson is going to be strong evidence that they hired Bill Lewis from Conyers.

You should have known them in the 50s and sixties. Competitive mouthy aholes who we played our Freshmen against before Varsity played and there wasn’t a drop-off of intensity anywhere. The Thanksgiving games on TV every year was Ga/GT followed by Ok/Neb. The first use of shotgun mikes at a CFB game was in Atlanta for this game and you could hear the “Oofs”, yells of pain coming from the wreckage on the field. It was not uncommon to see more than one stretcher hit the field during that game due to it’s high intensity. Dodd was known nationally and our coaches weren’t. You need to read “Good Old Fashioned Hate”, the first one written of rival CFB teams.

  7. I think Charter/Spectrum is carrying the ACC network games. It looks like it will be on channel 337 in the Atlanta market.
