If you tickle him he’s still a prick.

I agree with Paul Johnson, it is amazing that they won a few games.

  3. For all of Fish Fry’s bluster about the cupboard, last night showed it was bare to play 21st century football.

What you saw talent wise last night playing for Georgia Tech is why the Genius “retired.” More than any other of the mediocre HCs Tech has had since Bobby Dodd retired, Paul Johnson has done the most long-term damage to Georgia Tech football.

That trash roster he left behind looked like they’d never pass blocked before. It was like watching a bunch of monkeys hump a coconut. The Genius retired in place 2 years before he formally quit, maybe he should pipe down.

He is unquestionably a grouchy old prick begging to be admired for his small D1 accomplishments. Like a sleazy lawyer living in the world of technicalities to keep guilty scum on the streets, the fault really lies with the NCAA for not being more specific in blocking rules. How can you publicly state you have players’ safety as a priority and allow big, heavy humans to dive at another player’s knees without any way to punish that action?

Johnson lived in the sewers of CFB so long he doesn’t care for light being shed on how his HS offense was/is bad for the sport, and he was leading the parade. Screw him, glad he is gone, but the rules still haven’t been changed. Targeting may be designed to prevent the bigger tragedy of crippling head, neck, and spine injuries but limiting a player’s future, or causing them to limp the rest of his life unnecessarily, is a simple fix. You don’t see crack back blocks any longer, we don’t have to see this left unattended either.

If Pollack isn’t speaking the truth, why did the last two coaches prepare for GT by practicing how to avoid the chop block? What Paul isn’t saying is that that block is what kept him around in some games and kept the deficit score to a less embarrassing level to help his employment.

Wow! He’s still a Techie at heart; calling other people idiots over any criticisms (no matter how minor) and attributing their own perceived intellectual superiority as the very reason why they aren’t as successful at football as they think they deserve to be.

Not so much the Techie in him as he’s taken so much abuse for running the Triple Option from the media in general and now Geoff Collin’s whole branding thing is about running a modern offense that recruits want to play in and fans will want to watch. They’ve backhand laid the blame for all their problems on him.

He basically retired before he got canned so any shot at that offense, he sees a personal shot at him. They’re joined at the hip.

    “Passed blocked”? “Chopped block”?

Apparently his genius doesn’t extend to mastery of, you know, the English language.
