Them’s fightin’ words!

I can’t think of a more obvious bulletin board challenge for Kirby Smart than his opposing coach claiming that “We’re going to be the harder playing team that day.”

And, yes, I know that Smart and Stewart have a history together, but juice is juice and Kirby’s gonna serve it to his team.

“We’re going to be the harder playing team that day.”

I guess it’s possible. They may be more motivated by the task ahead. But even if it comes to be, it’s relative. Their 110% won’t match our 60%, so there’s that.

Still don’t think we cover a 7 TD spread. 😉

Correct. Kirby won’t let that happen, especially to an old colleague. Look for a comfortable 21 point win with lot’s of fresh faces.

Build up a lead, sit Fromm for 2H, and let Stetson do his thing.

So don’t mail it in, but bring in the mailman ?

Stetson “doing his thing” is more than just handing off to run the clock, imo. Sadly, in the past we have relegated out 2nd team players to being vanilla to the extreme, makes no sense to me. Not suggesting they run trick plays, nor call timeouts to get more plays in or score another meaningful play. We are paying the for 60 minutes of football, let both teams play the entire game. UGA has a pressing need to develop a back up QB, you cannot do that entirely in practice situations.

Totally agree in this situation. Obviously you don’t won’t to put your backups in a situation they screw up and put scare into a game. But when up by multiple TDs playing a team who’s starters are a lower level talent than our backups, let the backups run meaningful plays to gain experience to execute later when seriously needed. Let them give their best.

Why sit Fromm? Hell we know we can run the ball. Lets find out if we can throw the ball. I say fire it around all game with the starters in. We need to see if our QB and our receivers have any groove together. We act like we are just going to be able to run it down everyone’s throat. We need to see if we have a passing game. We going need it and it won’t the the mailman I’m tossing it around in the 4th quarter (hopefully). I hope to see Fromm light a fire under his own ass.

It’s going to be brutally hot the entire game. Everyone on the field and in the stands will be at risk. Murray State will earn their check the hard way.

  7. That’s a lot of bluster from a coach whose team lost by 25 to Austin Peay last year.

Poor choice of words. Just say “we plan to give 100% and leave everything we have out on the field”. Poking the bear is never a good idea (they may want to look at that earlier clip of Mays destroying the Vanderbilt player). That lack of motivation the players MAY have had just got erased.

Both Smart and Stewart know the Dawgs will win. Stewart is just saying his team is going to fight the good fight, even if they are completely outclassed. I wish them well.

    • If bloody, bruised and beaten is the hc’s desire, I’m shuuurr 77 and his buddies will/can accommodate…UGA’s weapons are fully loaded, ready for launch…coach should know there’s an expiration date on the fake juice, won’t be a good taste once they get punched in the face

Have you ever talked to anyone who played for one of these “cupcakes “? A guy I work with played QB for a small school and played in a couple of games against the big boys. He loved every second of it. They are used to playing in front of 10 – 20 thousand and this is their chance to play in an iconic place like Sanford before 90,000 fans. He said it was the highlight of his playing days. The whole team felt the same. The bruises will heal.

Based on the effort I saw starting halfway through the second quarter of the Vandy game, I won’t be surprised if Murray St is the harder playing team for 60 min.
