Kid, they weren’t making fun of your shirt.  They were making fun of your school allegiance.

We have all had to make a Superman shirt or cat in hat item etc. at home, but that’s the worst effort I’ve ever seen out into anything homemade ever.

    Worst effort…UT…Georgia State.

I think the kid gets it!

One of the responders to the article was right; UT ought to offer the kid a scholarship right now – in front of the whole class.

    Go Dawgs!

That poor kid. I don’t mean that literally, but it may be the case. I feel for him suffering through the bullying, but his team choice is what is really sad.

  4. If he thinks a little mockery from classmates is devastating, just wait until he sees Tennessee play in October go 0-6 in the East again lose to Vandy for a fourth consecutive year play this weekend.

As a side note, if the teacher wanted to end the mockery in the classroom, she could have. Instead, she went for the internet karma and posted the story on Facebook, and I’m sure it was not embellished in any way. That tells you all you need to know about this teacher. Go Noles.

Grown men mocking or using a poor kid to get a dig in at UT. Get a life.
I admire the kid and feel for him. Hope the Vols make his day somehow and put a smile back on his face.

As soon as the bullying started he picked up his iphone and called his mom upset. I hate that I am such an a-hole and a cynic. My wife is a teacher and she sees it all the time. Kids don’t have a decent pair of shoes but they have a smart phone in 3rd grade. SMH!

You have no idea what this kid’s home situation is so come off the a-hole and cynic act. If a kid did this to identify as a fan and it was a “G” on that piece of paper, who do you think put it there? The kid. His parents wouldn’t know shit about it.

I’ve joked as much about that game as anyone, but this is different. Just go back in your memory to imagine how life was for you at that age and how you identified with sports dress or digging that crest the kid from Emory at Oxford displays whenever he can. Different strokes.

Try living up to your name and try to avoid reacting to this in other than a noble way. If you just use it in welding, please excuse my lack of nobility.

Amazing example of virtue signaling. My critique was not of the kid but more on parenting these days but feel free to keep tilting at windmills.🙄 ffs Francis.

The name is not about my personal nobility and is a reference to the welding industry.

      Priorities man, priorities.

McGarity would have sent the kid a cease and desist letter.

KID: Those girls made fun of my UT sign!

TEACHER: Don’t worry, kiddo, we’ll get you a real UT shirt.

    [Vols lose to Georgia State]

TEACHER: Hey, guess what, your new Tennessee shirt is here!

    KID: Umm . . . yeah, no, I think I’m good.

Kids and adults can be real shits. I’d buy the kid a UT shirt, while explaining to him the likely error of his choice.

Coach Jeremy Pruitt said the kid showed more grit & determination tthanhis team did last Saturday. He is giving the kid a scholarship.
