If you want to know how Andy Staples gets to “If Jake Fromm hadn’t been so good, Sawyer Smith wouldn’t be starting at quarterback for Kentucky against Florida this week.”, you’ll have to read this. ($$)
Fromm may not be college football’s best quarterback, but is there another QB who’s had a bigger ripple effect this season?
Jake’s numbers will never fully show just how good a QB he is. We’re blessed to have him. Here’s to hoping he stays for another year.

If you think back, when Jake first showed up on campus Fran Tarkenton said that Jake should be the starter instead of Eason. A lot of people laughed at Tark and some weren’t as nice, calling him a meddler and malcontent. Looks like maybe he knew what he was talking about after all.

Ol’ Fran is a meddler and a malcontent. And he was right about Jake.

It’ll be really interesting to follow Jake’s NFL draft stock at the end of the year. Seems like he’d make a hell of a pro quarterback to me, but what do I know. I want to see him do well, but I’m with HamDawg on hoping he stays another year.

at some point the nfl has to realize that it isn’t all about the physical tools. look at blane, mitch, borttles, jameis, etc. the list of guys who get drafted due to being tall w/ strong arms seems to be pretty hit/miss. not saying smart accurate guys with “good not great” zip have a higher hit rate.. but damn seems better to take a chance on someone who, you know, knows how to play quarterback

saw a mock the other day with him @ #1
I dont know if I buy that, but he will likely be a top QB drafted in 2020.

Is there a better QB in college football? I don’t know, but I know I don’t want anyone else instead, and given some pretty formidable options available to him, neither did Kirby.

Great story. I hope Sawyer Smith torches the FU secondary and UK wins the game.

I keep waiting for Fromm to have that moment where he wins a big game when no one else is going to do it.

I guess. I definitely think of Sony before I think of Fromm for that game.

No doubt he didn’t do it by himself, but neither did Sony, and arguably, if Sony doesn’t fumble in regulation it might not have gotten into overtime. The only game JF11 has disappointed me at all is LSU. He just didn’t look like himself in that game to me, but every other game I can recall – win or lose – he is running a tight ship.

Love Sony, but recall we were down 7 when Fromm lead us down the field to tie with less than a minute left in the 4th quarter.

Fromm had the kick out block on the OU CB that sprung Sony clean to the sideline on the game winner. Check the tape, he drove that guy all the way out of the play. Even the starting QB can block at UGA!

Oh maybe Notre Dame, Auburn in the SEC title game, Oklahoma, Florida last year. Not sure what defines a “big” game any more. I kind of think that going 8-1 against our 4 biggest rivals the last two years is sort a big. Jes sayin.

Traditionally, Bob, some fans of UGA only consider it a big game if we lose. 🙈🙉🙊

Oh, you are spot on with that.
