He needs to make sure they all get their “Champions of Life” trophies. Or not? Isn’t 100% of zero still zero?

I don’t know about 100 times but I do think the Vols have better personnel this year. But the coaching staff appears to have regressed. Coaching errors at the end of the game cost UT the win against BYU and the coaching decisions made throughout the Georgia State-UT game allowed an inferior opponent to stay with the Vowels throughout and then surge ahead at the end to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. So, yes the TEAM is better but unfortunately the TEAM is hobbled by a lousy staff.

What happens now is the inevitable slide down hill on the recruiting front. You have a HC whose seat gets hotter by the day. You have kids bailing right and left, during the season no less. Good luck restocking the shelves with great talent. This train is off the tracks and not getting back on anytime soon. I think the Ga State loss will be the crusher. Good luck with the alum/fanbase ever trusting Pruitt after that. I just don’t see how he can recruit with all of these storm clouds.

I might catch flack for saying this, but I think Tyson Helton was a better OC than Chaney. Go ahead and compare the first 4 games of ’18 and ’19 if you disagree.

They could have Norm Chow or Bill Walsh and still struggle as 3 more players leaving the team shows.

The biggest problem in Knoxville is the players are not playing anywhere near max effort. I think Pruitt has lost the team and I am not sure he can ever get it back.

Chaney might be laughing all the way to the bank after this season. If you want to retire sign a guaranteed contract with a multi-year buyout at a place that is going to fire the entire coaching staff. Maybe Chaney’s not so stupid after all.

Actually, I’d call it a draw on those two games vs UF.

The scores are, but they at least moved the football and sort of contained Florida’s offense last year. They were only outgained by 23 yards and were -5 in turnovers. There were no mitigating factors to the blowout Saturday. Florida even gave them chances to stay in the game in the first half, and they still couldn’t do it.

Answer: The Vowels May not win another game this season. 1-6 is a given. After that they get UAB which frankly is a better team than UT. Vandy has beaten UT how many times in a row? UK has better personnel and a better staff. I don’t see another win on their schedule.

Speaking of which, damn if they didn’t let me join that board with “PDawg30577.” I’m still lurking, but I may jump in there at some point. The thing is, they’re trolling their own selves so hard that I can hardly see a good opportunity to jump in. If I was to just be an ass and post “WE GONNA WHOOP THAT AZZ!” or something obnoxious, about all I’d get back is various of “Yes, y’all are.” Except two out of three words of even that reply would probably be misspelled.

I like that so many turned 100 times into 100% even after someone corrected everyone doing so to point out how much worse what he actually said was. I’m also stunned that some people are still defending him and suggesting that their team has improved from last season. Hope springs eternal, I guess.

Brandon, you know, I’ve been reflecting about that very thing a lot this season. Now that I am in the door at Volnation (my StingTalk application was rejected over a year ago, and I’ve not bothered to try it again) I realize that while I now have the ability to throw grenades in their foxholes all over the place … well, I think a good person resists that temptation, and I’m trying to be a good person. I wouldn’t appreciate it here, so I guess it boils down to the Golden Rule.
If I do start commenting there or on any other opposing team’s site, I hope to be one of those commenters like WarD, or Bryant Denny, or Sides. (And, Sides, I’m sorry I messed with you over a typo earlier today. It was dickish, and I feel bad about it.) Someone who you could have a sensible, friendly conversation with if they walked up to your tailgate and introduced themselves.
Except StingTalk. If I ever get in there …

I wholeheartedly agree with that attitude. I was a regular for years on Volquest (as Buttsmerhe) and always had a cordial relationship with all of them. I was ultimately more comfortable there than on the Vent, Got to like that crowd a bunch and sympathized a little as their program sagged more and more- so I had to get out before I lost my moral compass. But they’re mostly us twenty years ago.
No mercy at all for the craven and cowardly GT Rivals board, which i also visited, but even the flame wars there got friendly after we all made each other laugh so much. Deep down they know they’re grotesque social outcasts whose mothers, if known, hang their heads in shame.

vowels have said on Twitter that they expect us to beat them by 70 and will be surprised if we don’t. I would love to see knee-land stadium checkered board out in red and black! There’s some momentum on that idea. I hope it takes hold.

Last year this time, UT was 2-2 and coming off a much more competitive loss to UF (scoring 21, compared to 3 last week). Not sure how Pruitt could have uttered that without laughing at his own absurdities.
With UGA, Bama, SCU, and MSU coming up, UT is looking at a 2-6 record at best IMO, with 1-7 also being a real possibility. Oh, UT has 8 home games this year and 4 away ones, yet they still are very likely to be bowl ineligible at the end of the year.
Maybe next year they’ll try to squeeze in 9 home games in effort to reach that magical 6 win mark.

They could very easily lose out, though I expect they’ll play well against someone eventually and win. South Carolina, UAB and Vandy are winnable, I guess. The team I saw against Florida won’t win another game.

UAB will beat them. Defending CUSA champs, undefeated thus far, and actually playing sound football. Plus, Bill Clark is a heck of a coach. I don’t see UT winning that game.

Theory- the 2nd year bounce has been watered down or outright eliminated by the early signing period

Not disputing the hc’s math nor his 100 times better comment….better at what?….checkers….eating donut holes….running the wrong defensive formation for that matter wrong offensive formation….better at doing pregame warmups, post game meals???? we need a sign here coach and 7-8 games in the loss column ain’t 100 times better…pruitt might be smarter than a 3rd grader, not by much

Apparently, even Munson has left the building. Is nobody else concerned that the Dawgs will be (understandably) way overconfident, and let a desperate Tennessee squad hang around and win the game? I’m remembering 2007 – and 2006. Hoping for 2017.

Tennessee was actually pretty good in 2006 and 2007. They are not that at all this year. This Georgia team is also better than either of those.

Florida is beating the crap out of Tennessee. At this rate Jeremy Pruitt will be bringing Butch Jones his coffee in Tuscaloosa by November.
