Your non-game game day post

Okay, just because Georgia isn’t suiting up today doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty of other games to watch.  Here’s a few:

  • Texas A&M @ Arkansas:  The team the Hogs last lost to, San Jose State, got whipped by Air Force last night.  This one looks to be ugly.
  • Ole Miss @ Alabama:  The line — Tide by 35.5 — is screaming for a back door cover, but that’s about all.
  • Virginia @ Notre Dame:  I’d love for my ‘Hoos to pull the upset today, but, then again, I would have liked for them not to have struggled against Old Dominion.
  • USC @ Washington:  Two of Southern Cal’s starting cornerbacks are out, so let’s see if Eason lights ’em up.
  • Georgia Tech @ Temple:  BWAHWAHAWHAWHAHWAHAWHWAHA…
  • Mississippi State @ Auburn:  Think the Tigers survive today.
  • Ohio State @ Nebraska:  I’m surprised at the number of people who think this is gonna be a game today.
  • Kentucky @ South Carolina:  Think Boom’s gonna need a bigger Sandstorm.

Sorry Buddy. I have to pull for ND to win out, you know to qualify the win.
I’m going to go wash my typing fingers now.

Yep, got to hope Irish win by 30. And I hope its one of those Ohio State choke in the bucket Purdue/Iowa affairs. Temple’s win over Maryland doesn’t look too great now, but the Trade School is awful.

Kinda off-topic but Florida and Utah just scheduled a home-and-home yesterday for 2022 and 2023. So that line you sometimes hear about how these games have to be scheduled 8-10 years in advance is bullshit.

    https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/florida-utah-schedule-home-and-home-football-series-in-2022-and-2023/

Georgia currently doesn’t have another interesting out-of-conference home game lined up until 2026 (when UCLA comes to Sanford). That’s inexcusable and they need to fix it.

As things stand now, we’re about to enter a 5 year stretch of incredibly stale home schedules until LSU comes in 2025. Pathetic.

I think USCe could win their game. If they can play as well as they did against Bama, I believe they have a chance. There, I said it.

If Sandstorm can’t beat UK’s 3rd QB, Agent Muschamp will be up for reassignment

Think we have to pull for the Hoos today. If for no other reason than to support adgm and his obvious favor to Carla next year. Which for the life of me I can not see any benefit to UGA.

    Is that an impeachable offense.

I laughed. Also spent some time last night looking at the Redcoat Band at the Dawg Walk on youtube. Seeing CMR lead the team reminded me of the fact that he was responsible for making that a part of game day tradition in Athens.

So on this bye week… thanks CMR.

I thought someone said “Escape Goat” was going to be added, but it hasn’t been. It’d make a good one. Senator, you might consider a Lexicon update thread and solicit suggestions. Curating those would be a hoot.

        My first would be “Cornbread.”

Think ND feels pretty good bout themselves and has no let down today. That loss didn’t take away their will, they should cover today against UVA. Also think SC handles KY in this “must win” situation. Jimbo is just unimpressive as a HC, they have 2 losses and still struggle with a team as bad as Arky. Better games in the afternoon and evening hours, thankfully.

Like others have said, gotta pull for ND to make our SOS look better. Also, who would like to see UGA vs Ohio in the playoffs. The hype would be off the charts. I hate Ohio State but would love to see them in the NC game,

So much for A&M being quality wins for Clemson and Auburn. Have never thought Jimbo was a quality HC but how does he not have his team fired up after 2 losses this year and LSU, Bama, and UGA left? Arky is a real light weight this year but Morris has his guys playing all out. UGA will handle the Aggies on both sides of the ball this November, if we are healthy. I see nothing on offense or defense that will stand up to what we bring.

Agree. aTm might have players, but isn’t coached well. Coley was smart to avoid that mess.

I wasn’t high on Moorhead @ MSU, and he’s making me look like Carnac the Magnificent right now.

I love Jake Fromm. I won’t measure his success at Georgia by whether he wins is a MNC or not.

But a little part of me wonders if Justin Fields is the type of QB who carries a team over the top though maybe not in Kirby’s system. Guess we’ll see.

  21. Anybody else wondering why the hell Fields ever committed to Georgia? Or any other QB with dual threat potential, for that matter? He would never have been utilized at UGA the way he is at OSU.

Really wondering if this is the year of the transfer QB. OSU and Oklahoma seem like a real possible matchup.

I’ll wait to see next week at Michigan St where he’ll see pressure and not have 10 seconds to decide to throw or run. He hasn’t played a team that could pressure him yet. No doubt the kid is a great athlete but the competition he has faced has been pathetic.

I concur, Kdawg. He hasn’t had to face any real competition yet. I wish him well, but I am curious to see how it all shakes out.

Obviously Nebraska’s not good, but come on, they’re certainly Sakerlina level. And Fields and OSU ripped them a new one. Fields looks like a totally different player. Makes me wonder what his deal was last year.

Yeah, I definitely wondered why he came here especially considering that he was committed to PSU. I also wonder what the heck D’wan Mathis was thinking coming to UGA as well because 1) he won’t be used properly, 2) he won’t see the field for any meaningful minutes or 3) probably a combination of 1 & 2. Then we’ll also hear about him not being able to read a defense or him being a prima donna.

      Like

      • Fields was a prima donna. So is any quarterback ever. Saban courted many of them but finally got wise that he needed to feature them somewhere to keep the 5 stats coming. Let’s not forget that his former prima donna is a Heisman candidate at Oklahoma and his current one didnt properly carry their team in the 2019 NCG. There is such a thing as too many chiefs.

How ironic would it be if Oklahoma and Ohio State ends up playing for the title? Can you imagine the story lines leading up to that game?

I can and I don’t like 50% of them. Last night at the end they showed the fake punt and blamed it all on Smart. Yes, it was a bad call….but it was also a bad play, one of many. Grrr.

Today’s loss to Temple is further proof of how good of a recruiter Geoff Collins is.

Well that’s one way to spin it.
