I am somewhat disappointed nobody reached out to the Zooker.  But I’ll be alright — more than alright — if Booch gets the job.

    With Mack doing his thing at UNC, I don’t see how they bring in anyone but one of their greatest coaches ever in Schiano. Then it becomes a race to see who can suck less soonest: Rutgers or Tennessee. Clay Travis will monitor closely, I’m sure.

    So disrespectful to Ron Zook! He took an Illinois team to the Rose Bowl! It’ll be decades before Rutgers plays there. They would be lucky to have him.

    Rutgers should get a trophy/ring for being an FCS level program that collects millions while masquerading as a Power 5 team at the pay window. Doubt they care, just send them their $40MM every year for getting stomped almost every week. Doesn’t matter who they get, they are going to get their nose bloodied most weeks just like the Murray States, Idahos, etc., do for far less money.

    Booch would be happy to do it for 3-5 million, beats the $30K Saban is giving him for running coffee to the assistant coaches. That Haslam money is going to run out soon.

    This is a situation where people have allowed themselves to be convinced that memes are true. Butch Jones had 5 solid years as the HC at Central Michigan and Cincinnati. He took over a bad Tennessee program and proceeded to go 5-7, 7-6, 9-4, and 9-4 w consecutive 2nd place finishes in the East. Not to say that he is a top 10 coach, but that isn’t too shabby.

    His real problem was the the Tennessee fan-base set the expectation of an East Title in 2016. When he failed to deliver that Title, the fanbase turned on him. They openly mocked him and called for his firing after a season opening win over tech. As the open mockery continued, he lost the team.

    The pressure of the job was too much which led him to say some goofy shit, but doesn’t mean he is a bad coach. He was a single point against Florida away from winning the East in 2015. They were 11 points in regulation away from being undefeated including the 5 point loss on the road the eventual National Champion Alabama.

    Hey, how about Fish Fry? He’s tanned, relaxed, and ready to kickass. It’s hard to recruit to Rutgers. His system might work there.
