Swallowed whole

If you’ve ever wondered what it looks like for one human being to envelop another human being, Jordan Davis is here to help.

If anything, that was more intimidating live.  I can only imagine what the ball carrier was feeling then.

Speaking of the SEC’s most embarrassing loss yesterday…

It’s hard to be worse than Vanderbilt this season, but Morris managed to pull that off.

Manball doesn’t care about your feelings.

Gotta admit, I was fairly amused to find in last night’s comments some of the same suspects railing about Georgia’s stilted offensive performance as a fatal flaw when it comes to winning the SEC/making the CFP being among those quick to throw South Carolina shade every time I bring up Georgia’s robust statistical profile.

Speaking of which, Bill Connelly now has Georgia fourth in SP+.

Like it or not — and judging from those comments, many of you are definitely in the latter camp — Kirby’s built his team in the way he’s most comfortable with coaching.  It’s not exactly chopped liver, either.  Last night, the defense posted its third shutout of the season.  It’s only yielded 57 points in six conference game; the next best tally, Auburn’s, is twice that amount.  It still hasn’t given up a rushing touchdown.  Those are defensive stats most of us would have sacrificed our right arms for just a few years ago.

Hate to be that Erk guy, but if you’re not giving up much, you’ll be in every game you play.  Doesn’t mean you’ll win, of course, but as Woody Allen once said, 80% of life is just showing up.  That’s where Kirby is coaching from and the best we can do, speaking as someone who would certainly like to see a more consistent offense, is deal with it on those exact terms.

So you can @South Carolina me all you want, as long as you remember that cuts both ways.  If Boom can beat Kirby, surely it’s not nearly as big a stretch to think Georgia can play with ‘Bama or LSU.

(I think that was the opposite of a GTP existential post…)

“He added that alcohol is believed to be a factor in the incident.”

Shot.   (See what I did there?)

Two lifelong friends house-sitting east of Bend got in an alcohol-fueled argument, then a fight over a college football game Saturday afternoon, prompting one man to get a shotgun and shoot the other, Deschutes County sheriff’s deputies said. The Bend man was jailed on attempted murder and other charges…

Detectives learned Honey and the other man were at the home, watching the LSU-Alabama football game. An argument escalated into a physical fight, which in turn led Honey to get a shotgun with a birdshot shell and shoot the other man once in the head and neck area as the man walked away in the driveway, Bailey said.

Chaser.

Bailey added that the man was not barricaded in the home and reportedly went back inside to finish watching the game before surrendering to deputies.

What are the odds PAWWWLLL!!! books this dude for his show this week?

What a way to go

This is what having your bowl game aspirations, as mediocre as they might have been, shut down looks like, in one play:

Sadly, this wasn’t even the most humiliating loss an SEC team suffered yesterday.  But it might be enough to cost Boom his job.  Again.

(And, yes, before you go there, I know Georgia lost to South Carolina.)
