Speaking of the SEC’s most embarrassing loss yesterday…

It’s hard to be worse than Vanderbilt this season, but Morris managed to pull that off.

Now, wasn’t he pretty good a Clemson’s offensive coordinator? I’m just searching my memory, not implying anti Coley stuff. He won’t be out of work long, but will have to settle for a high 6 figure income.

Sorry, didn’t see your comment before I posted mine. But yeah, we’re thinking along the same lines.

I always wonder in these situations whether it’s the program or the coach. Everybody piles on Tennessee over the last few years, but nobody talks about Arkansas, another program that was something serious for a long while. How long has it been an embarrassing mess?

He was epically bad. I was talking with my brother in law yesterday about how far Arkansas had fallen and we couldn’t figure out why they have been so bad so long. They have a monopoly on the area and should be able to recruit. But it seems to make no difference.

Gotta figure nobody is gonna be chomping at the bit to hire him……….Kirby could do far worse than to bring him in as an analyst for some outside ideas. Of course, that’s assuming Kirby wants any outside ideas.

If Derek Mason gets fired, would love to have him join the staff for a season or two as well.

Bobo, Morris, and Mason all could be available in short order. All guys with strong SEC ties and good to great track records as assistants. It will be interesting to see where they land.

Bobo and Morris will almost certainly need a few years as assistants to rehabilitate their reputations if they hope to get head-coaching jobs again in the future. Not sure about Mason. I get the sense he could catch on as a head coach at a smaller FBS school if Vandy shitcans him.

Not likely to happen. With Rutgers and FSU open, these guys are likely candidates. And let’s not forget Butch. Athletes like trophies!!

Kirby/Coley would benefit greatly by hiring analysts that could bring complimentary (or even contrarian) ideas. I’m not sure Coley is in over his head as much as he has no brain trust to add to the discussion.

If I happened to get the FSU job, I’d go after Morris and Mason (assuming he gets fired) first thing to be my coordinators.

I hadn’t thought of that. Those would be expensive coordinator hires but with the rebuild job needed there, it might be worth taking a little less initially as head coach to be able to afford to strong coordinators.

Although maybe they wouldn’t be that expensive since both would have buyout money in their pockets (I’m assuming Mason has some sort of buyout, I don’t think Vandy releases contract details).

  4. Brett B. left Arkansas in an absolute mess from a talent standpoint. Morris proved he isn’t a Power 5 type of head coach.

That’s a total rebuild job. Arkansas has to get players from Texas in addition to keeping their best home.

Still no excuse to get blown out by the Hilltoppers.

God damn, Bret Bielema. There’s a name you don’t hear anymore. Talk about a big ol’ douche. Him and that young wife he met when she was waiting the high rollers’ tables at the casino. I just remember him jumping and cheering at that unsportsmanlike conduct call he basically provoked. (I just looked for video of it on YouTube, and my YouTube-fu is too weak to find it, or they’ve “cease and desisted” it off the channel since then. I hope y’all remember what I’m talking about. The league commissioner apparently called and admonished him about it afterward.)

Seriously, they have been the bigger mess than Tennessee but haven’t got nearly the attention over the same span. Arkansas doesn’t quite have Tennessee’s history, but it’s not like they don’t have any history. Quite the contrary, I can remember when Arkansas was a successful program that everyone had to take seriously.

Morris was to be air lifted to the Saban Coaching Clinic in Tuscaloosa early this morning but a smoldering fire may prevent treatment.

This could be bad for the Dawgs – if Gus to Ark and Auburn gets a good coach.

He’s not going to Arkansas unless they pay him big bucks. He beats the hell out them whenever he gets the chance because of how they’ve treated him.

Can we get him to be our OC? Asking for a friend.

If Devwah Wayley(spelling?) is smart he goes to the portal and Kirby brings him to UGA where he belongs. He was too good for Ark.

I read the road to failure – “not having someone to tell your idea is bullshit then when you have someone ignoring them and believing your own bullshit” or something along those lines.
