Another early Thanksgiving thought

These are what glory years look like, Vol fans.

The best thing about that is how much crowing Tennessee fans would do over the winter, celebrating a season when their team lost to Georgia State and BYU.

Living up here, it’s crazy. The fans went from talking 9-10 wins at the start of the year to 2-10 and fire the coach back to “they might make a bow!” In the course of 3 months.

I will say what Pruitt has done with the team after the debacle start has actually been pretty impressive.

  2. I say this with 100% seriousness: if Gus jumps to Arkansas, Tennessee should be very, very worried about Pruitt leaving for Auburn. And if Bobo is available to be his OC, then we should too.

CHAMPIONS OF LIFE! Seriously, good for Jeremy; I always liked him and thought he made a huge mistake going to UT. And maybe he did, but he isn’t quitting.

I don’t like him, but he deserves some credit. Assuming they win at least one of their last two, they’ve gotten better as the season has progressed. They played like a team that might win two games through their first four. Since then, they haven’t been embarrassed by the elite teams they’ve played (though you could argue that giving up 43 to Georgia is embarrassing given the games since), and they managed to win the others.

I was lurking on their boards Sat nite and was laughing at how enthusiastic they were for coming back from an awful first half to bring down the mighty Cats of Kentucky.

A lot of talk about “this is when CJP really turned the ship around” mixed in with some “UK sucks! They’re not our rival!” talk.

Tennessee fans crowing is never a good thing.

Be very interesting to see that Mizzou/TN battle. If Vols take a physical Mizzou team down, that will be telling about how far they have come, at least to me. Vandy is a mess, and KY was one dimensional, but Mizzou with Bryant will be a test. They are missing some big pieces but that would be some serious Mo, and they have playing time to sell.
