  1. Glad she’s okay. Cause, man, it looked scary for a minute.

Hey, she knew that she was going to get hit, might as well get the shot! 🙂

But seriously, what a joy to find out when she was out of the hospital. Dennis Byrd or Devon Gales’ injuries at first looked far less consequential than hers did. Blessed girl!

Somebody tell me if this is right:
She had slightly lowered her camera, and Herrien’s thigh slapped (I mean really slapped) the telephoto lens up into her eye.
If true, I think Chamberlain Smith’s camera needs to meet Bill Bates.

When you’re the camera lady for Manball, you gotta stick your “nose” in every play.

Yep. Maintained gap integrity to make the stop and Get The Picture. No doubt Auburn has already added it to their pregame highlight reel. 😉

My daughter is a journalism major at Auburn and was on the sideline reporting for Auburn Univ news for the game. my heart stopped until I got her on the phone.
I can’t imagine what her family was going thru as I had all kinds of horrible thoughts running through my mind. on top of that, Then you had that jackass Danielson laughing and making stupid comments. It was about 8 minutes of being scared to death.
Without getting too sappy, it was the greatest phone call I ever had when she picked up the phone and said “hello”.
I drained the Scotch bottle after that call and hit my knees and said about 1000 Hail Marys and Lit every candle in church on Sunday.
By the 4th Quarter I was back to screaming and yelling like a normal obnoxious UGA fan in bewilderment of the zone coverage scheme.
    Hug your children, Go Dawgs!

That had to be a bad time and a feeling of not being in control for your daughter. Sorta’ like being in an earthquake. Those feelings hit parents more often than many realize when your children are away from home and you expressed it quite well. Pretty sure my tequila sippin’ would have gone to shots for that relief that only parents can feel afterwards and “scared to death” only begins to describe feelings of communication loss with your daughter
and unknown identity of the person involved. I’m sure you can’t count the numerous scenarios that came to mind for such a long period of time. Glad she was unhurt and that it ended well for your family.

Picking up on your comment re: Danielson, what planet was he on? Nessler kept trying to guide him back to appropriate responses. “Uh, no Gary, this is not a player, but a photographer.” “Gary, I don’t believe it is a man, but a young lady”, etc.

Very glad your daughter and Ms. Chamberlain are OK.

Could be a Nike ad (apart from the uniform badging, the ball is turned perfectly).

I realize that this is nitpicky, but I have yet to hear anyone (especially Gary and Brad) mention the fact that Herrien was pushed by an Auburn player after he had gone out of bounds (technically a penalty).
Had this not happened, I doubt that he would have run into Chamberlain. Just saying…

    • this is NOT nitpicky….it is exactly what I saw. Herrien was absolutely going to avoid her but the A-hole;cheater AubarnWarPlainsTiger pushed him into her after they were out of bounds. This University and its football team is SOOOOO pathetic that when we go back to play them in 2021 they are going to put this hit up on the jumbo tron as one of their highlights along with other personal fouls by Fairley and Dee Ford. I don’t care for Aubarn.

I could probably pay her to sign a copy of that picture, but I couldnt pay the person who is in the picture.

It’s a great picture and one I am sure many dawgs will have hanging somewhere.

She picked up boatloads of Twitter followers over the past couple days.. for a photographer, I expect that is a big deal, so hopefully something good comes out of that scary ordeal.

Glad to see her out of harm’s way. She’s a good sport and with a great story to open opportunities for a successful career.

This has nothing to do with Ms. Chamberlain ( I am very, very glad she was not seriously injured), but there are way too many people on the side line for every game. I am surprised more people are not injured, including players.
