If you look at the second half of the season through the lens of Kirby the coaching savant carefully calibrating how close his team can cut things and still win games, it’s a lot easier to avoid frustration. Try it!

"Our offensive staff probably hates me." – Kirby Smart on the win over TAMU

I think maybe Kirby Smart just wants his offense to generate the excitement-to-dullness ratio of a fishing show, and not even the ones where Bill Dance hooks his own hat and falls out of the boat.

Boy you know Andy Griffith probably experienced a vanilla offense too….

Jim Chaney just had Jarret Guarantano, who was benched earlier in the season, throw for 400+ yards at Mizzou

I never thought I’d say this but I miss Jim Chaney.

No doubt Chaney to Coley has not been good for our offense. The question now is what is Kirby going to do differently. If everything is about recruiting, what blue chip offensive players want to play in this system right now?

These comments sound an awful lot like 2015 where the offense basically stopped trying the second half of the year and asked the defense to win every game for them.
Fromm looks a lot Lambert in that #11 jersey right now……

Then how did we beat FU? Fromm played his @$$ off in that game. Without Jake, we don’t win in Jacksonville. He threw 3 TD passes in the Auburn game, and all 3 of them were nice throws.
You want to know the common thread in the last 3 wins. The team got comfortable double-digit leads by playing great defense and being opportunistic on offense, and then we went into turtle mode on offense and played soft zone on defense in the 4th quarter. We allowed teams to hang around.

Concur…..and last I checked, Lambert won a few for us also. I believe he was 11 & 2 as a starter.

Kirby has to realize how bad this is, right?

Yea, come for the Dawgs and leave with the snark.

So we’re seeing that Kirby is a great Defensive mind and recruiter, but lacks the same caliber of instincts for the offense. Wasn’t that his resume coming in? The prior regime was a mirror image in many ways. Both styles got awfully close to a MNC. Beleaguered Dawg fans would like to see both come together but it’s hard to name any teams not named Alabama that have that. Defense wins championships…GATA.

I don’t believe Coley is the man to get this offense and program to where it wants to go. I don’t believe Coley is the man to make QBs better or even stay the same. I think he’s an ok OC but a bad QB coach.
It seems obvious to me that Fromm is a guy who buys into his coaches. Well, he needs help and his QB coach is selling him shit. I’m sure he’s had some personal regression but it’s obvious to me that Coley is failing him
If Kirby can’t see that or does and doesn’t do anything about it then that’s an even bigger problem.

Love or hate Daniels but he was a pro QB and when he says Jake’s form is bad I’ll go along. His accuracy is way off on long balls down the middle. He goes thru his progressions but has tunnel vision. Once he skips you, you are dead to him. There were RBs wide open on most plays but he only threw to them when that was the play call. If, and now I think it is a big if, he gets drafted he will be holding a clipboard for three years and then go the way of D.J. and be out of the league. He will not have the luxury of a great OL to keep him from being killed. I like the kid but he has the slowest release of any QB I have seen this season. Coach O knows how to stop our running (see last years game) and at this point he’s not going to be that afraid of Fromm and our WR’s. Unless we can win the SEC like 9 to 6 we’re screwed. Munson out.

Dropped passes, inconsistent route running, (giving up on passing plays) miss reads are not the fault of the oc…and I have NFI whut goes on in the qb room, change is good if needed as much as continuity is needed…3 oc’s in 3 years is never good at any level of play

CKS values Coley’s south Florida recruiting more than he does his OC skills.

Kirby playing chess again by getting the CBS ratings up with another 4 quarter, 58 minute game! And timed right before/during negotiations on the new contract. Just two more weeks to keep the surprise, high-power offense under wraps. I am almost out of nitroglycerin, perfect timing Coach.

Telling you…With just a bit more success on offense, the sky is the limit. If JF starts hitting a few more deep (a healty Cager and an improving Pickens) defenses are going to have to back off and when they do..we’re back in the saddle.
Have faith. The coaching staff isn’t blind..they have too much class to hurt the team by criticizing the offense too harshly. They’re working on it.
Meanwhile..Kirbs has LSU right where he wants them…believing all they have to do with their not so great defense is stack the box and stop the run.

See? That is the payoff for 11 games of keeping it vanilla and not showing our new OC’s passing scheme and cards. Aranda and Eddie Oeaux will never know what hit them. Brilliant.
Vegas isn’t fooled, that is why the SEECG has two teams rated within 4 points of one another, sucking that Cajun oil money right out of the swamps, along with the UGA non-believing negatrons. They will feel like
it is easy money. Nope, just Fool’s Gold. Smart/Coley way ahead of the experts with this ploy because they stayed with it all season. Wait until you see the Scout Team run the triple option next week and give Jake’s arm, and the receivers’ legs. Air Raid Alert for December 7 (where has we heard that before?)

I know I will be in the minority but I thought we called good schemes last night. We got Pickens open on a post route using the flea flicker and had a wide open Harrien on a wheel route, we had a couple of slants and was 50% on those only because a receiver dropped a pass. We had some open RBs on passing routes. We passed on first down a good percentage of the time.
The passing game suffered from inaccurate passes and at least one drop.
