No struggle for me this week. Nothing Georgia or Alabama did convinced me to move them into the same class as the three teams I voted for in Week 12.
My ballot this week:
Less than five minutes’ time.

My ballot this week was also the same as last week’s:
And for the same reason as you: nobody did anything to change it.
Bama still needs more carnage. I still don’t think the committee puts them in over a 1-loss conference champion.
OU keeps hanging around. They are severely flawed, but they are going to win the Big XII-II. They desperately need Auburn to beat Bama and for Utah to lose a game.
Utah is the team to keep an eye on. If they win out, I believe they are in over the SECCG loser (even if it’s LSU) and Alabama.
I hope Utah beats Oregon next week, and gets the 4th spot in the playoff. Still feel no conference should get 50% of the spots, and Utah looks like the team that should be there, over the OU/Baylor winner. Looking forward to that PAC12 championship game Friday night before UGA plays, hate that Oregon lost to ASU. Still hard to read ohio and Clem’s Son given the lack of a real test yet, although I think one of those gets a decent test Saturday in Ann Arbor.
I’ve convinced myself that if Bama beats Awbarn, it gets in if UGA or an OSU or Clempson loses. If neither of those 3 lose, your current Top 4 in the CFP may shuffle order but, the schools will remain the same.
I think it’s going to be really hard for Rob Mullens to attend the next Pac 12 meetings if the Yutes are a 1-loss conference champion and don’t get in the CFP especially for an Alabama team sitting at home on Championship Saturday without its starting QB. If we beat LSU, I can see the committee keeping the Corn Dogs in based on resume alone if the loss is close.
But … I can see your scenario as well.
These three until someone loses:
I put UGA at six because the lack of productivity by the offense is Bothering me. TBH, I don’t know why I expected them to run like shit through a goose against SEC defenses withe tons of film and by-weeks to prepare for a relatively simple scheme. Maybe I should work on managing my expectations a little and quit being such a spoiled brat fan.
Less than 5 minutes
It’s all “mox nix”(sic) until we beat LSU, so let’s don’t angst over places until then and go wipe the boards with fech. Both games should be fun to watch.
Less than 5 minutes
Poor Clemson. All they know how to do is win.
I generally am still voting for the teams that I feel have a legitimate path to the playoffs and hence, MNC. (It will always be mythical in my book.) LSU, Georgia, Clemmons, OU, Baylor, Minn, aOSU, Utes. Don’t see Bama getting in.

If LSU beats Georgia LSU will be #1 and Bama will be # 4 as long as Bama gets by the Barn (the SEC will never allow Auburn to win that game for that very reason). Too much SEC game fixing going on for it to turn out any other way.
Wanna put a bet on any of those games?
I am down to two. Ohio State and LSU
Same. My reasoning is to include the teams that would have a legitimate claim to a national title if the season ended right now. There is no set number for how many that includes, and it is usually less than four by the time the regular season/conference championships are over.
That isn’t to say that other teams can’t climb back into contention, but all three of them are going to have to lose before I feel like I can add any additional teams. And as glad as I’ll be if UGA beats LSU, and as present as I’ll be when the playoff commences, I can’t really see any reason why would actually need to give 12-1 UGA a shot at 13-0 Ohio State and Clemson for a national title. It isn’t like schedule strength is going to be an argument after Clemson rips South Carolina apart.
These are the 9 teams that I can realistically see getting in.
Take a look at all the CF records and tell me what you see from a two-sided team of O and D? See anyone ranked up there with us with a great D that’s in that playoff group? Why wouldn’t you rank them as #1? They have a great O and their D is far ahead of LSU.
If you look up D stats, it jumps off the page at you for the last three weeks. The team that the Committee and I said was #1 followed by LSU, Clemson, UGA, ‘Bama and Utah. My ballot agreed with the Committee.
I missed it this week. Fudge!
“The only problem is there’s only one ball,” Daniels said. “We’ve just got so many guys. And it’s not that Arik’s just another guy. Arik’s very special, but a lot of our guys are very special. It’s a great problem to have.” — AB-H, 7/20/21
