I’ll be looking forward to hearing from the first kid who goes all “yeah, they offered me at UGA, but Waffle House“.

Somebody (state school) need to sign them Georgia boyz…..

Based on Lowndes face planting and the lack of any other Georgia HS team being ranked near the MaxPreps top 25, I’d say STAY AWAY FROM GEORGIA boyz this year! Kirby’s on the motha – he knows what he’s doing re: recruiting. QB choice? offense? Not so much. But crootin, Kirby knows!

Got only one RB, but a good one in Milton. Seems to have chased Zach Evans too much while ignoring Tank (GA).
Let another RB slip away from the state. Who knows if we get Evans, but my guess is no….it backfired. Would rather have that Georgia boy instead (Tank).
Got only 1 out of the Top 28 in the great state of Georgia. 12 of them were in the national top 100.
21 of them (GA) were in the top 200 nationally.
Georgia was loaded this year with top prospects.
Not saying not to go national. But we should take care of Georgia first… then go national. We are FAR from “closing the border”. Seems as though this is not as much of a priority as Kirby says.
Again, not opposed to going national at all. But if all things are given even (Georgia HS player versus national), I’d rather have a Georgia boy first.
Hard for me to believe we could not have used any of those other 27….PITIFUL.
Don’t want to alienate too many HS coaches or players from Georgia. May not bite you in the ass now, but will down the road.

I swear Kirby is in a damned if he does or damned if he doesn’t situation with in-state players. It seems his recruiting philosophy is put the board together and go get the best player to fill needs regardless of location (sounds like Alabama). That’s what I want him to do. I personally don’t care how many kids are in-state vs. out-of-state. We are ALWAYS going to recruit Florida and the Carolinas. We are going to recruit Texas and California.
Get the best regardless of location and coach them up.

I believe Auburn had 5 of the top 15 from Georgia committed to 2 for UGA but Smart has a better class recruiting nationally. Which would you rather have?

I would rather have the best class nationally. I think I made that clear from my comment above. Others have made it a point to say they want more Georgia guys.

I think the people that want to sign more Georgia guys also want us to sign everyone else that we sign. I’d be fine with that if there wasn’t a limit om how many we can sign. I know those limits can be massaged – and CKS is a pretty masseur – but there are still limits. Recruiting isn’t our problem.

Why is he so intent on linking tech to a low rent second rate truck stop greasy spoon?

It’s the last business the Kirby mafia will take in the 404

Anthony Bourdain went to one and really liked it. It’s not second rate at all. He’s intent on linking Tech to Waffle House because Waffle House is fucking awesome and Tech is fucking not.

First, WaHo is great.
Second, you heard him say a lot of upper echelon management (including the founder) are GT guys. If that’s the case, I would do everything I could to link my program to a successful brand run by folks from my school.

If the hc at nerd football is going to be riding the coat tails of the WH brand…get the numbers straight…439 in the state of Georgia and counting

Leaning on your connection to Waffle House seems kind of like bragging about your access to Walmart or running water. I mean, is there a single town in the Deep South with a population of >5,000 that doesn’t have a Waffle House?

I’m not sure if this is the section to post in but I just read an article that Swifts Dad said Deandre is coming back for his senior season to get UGA national championship. For the record, I think he should go, but if he comes back he’s my favorite Dawg of all time regardless of the 2020 outcome.
He also sees a potential in the offense that I don’t see. Go Dawgs!!!

Two things, The Senator is talking about him and he has GT in the Top 25 Nationally in recruiting for the first time in a long time..like it or not..

I was about to say a similar thing. We can chuckle, but he’s actually cracking the top-25 in the team rankings right now. I’d say that’s a sign that all the re-branding is helping or at least, not hurting.

Geoff is the perfect fit for that nerd nest in Atlanta. Waffle House is decent but I wouldn’t come close to saying it is “one of the best restaurants in the world”.

WTF has Waffle House to do with football? Bobby Dodd used to brag that going to Georgia Tech would qualify you for a high paying job when you graduated. Now I guess graduating from Georgia Tech qualifies you for a job at Waffle House.

Waffle House. Atlanta based. Close to Tech colors. Drab facilities. Bathrooms similar to those at Grant Field. “Scattered & smothered” describes a Sat. afternoon at the venue. Geoff is a squirrel.
