Today, in Dawg porn

Meet the new boss, not the same as the old boss…

In that clip, tell me he doesn’t come off as a Mike Leach disciple.  (Listen to how he defines balance.  That’s the Leach, not Bobo, definition.)

It’s going to be interesting to see what Monken and Smart fashion together.

Now, go take that cold shower.

Excuse me. I need to go close the blinds and have some alone time. That’s some fantastic DawgPorn.

When do you think Kirbz comes out and admits that we fans were right all along? That’s when I lose it. 🙂

By demoting Coley and hiring Monken, he’s admitting he was wrong, which tacitly means we were right. I’m good with that.

I don’t honestly know who Murf Baldwin is, but he thinks this transition might be more difficult than meets the eye. In addition to the “get back” coach, they may have to get Kirby a “headset diplomat” if we have rapid 3 and outs and the D gets overworked in September.

Anybody else think Kirby talked to Nick Chubb about Monken? If I had the option to get Chubb’s take on the character and interpersonal skills of a co-worker (and that’s what the coach-player relationship is in the NFL), I would take it 10 times out of 10.

Amen to “Leach’s version of balance, not Bobo’s“.

I’m impressed with the guy. Now how does Kirby use this resource without alienating Coley if Coley stays with the team?

I don’t think we should be expecting a wholesale implementation of this stuff right away..more likely a slow morphing into it as spring, summer and maybe a whole season come and go.
Maybe we’ll see a hybrid offense between manball and this. That way you can press a defense with whichever is working or a combo.
Even incremental changes to get a more open offense will be awesome.
The times they are a’ changin’ but it probably won’t be fast and furious.
    If it is? Great!

Manball, let me introduce you to Attackball….now you two play nice, cause we’re going to the top with this one

  10. If we can implement these concepts with a physical line of scrimmage, this is exactly what manball is supposed to be … a balanced offense with a knock them in the dirt line of scrimmage.

A professional OC on what a modern offense should be. I especially like his concept of “balance’ because it’s addresses a nagging problem at Georgia. We have been failing to engage all our gifted athletes against our opponents. Why throw 15, 50/50 balls to Pickens, when you can design schemes that make everyone a threat. Dang good hire.

I was impressed that he was actually talking straight up on philosophy and concepts without a lot of coachspeak BS. That speaks volumes about the man.

Man, enjoyed hearing that from our future OC. The more points of mismatch we can develop, the more balanced and effective our O can be.
In terms of equal opportunities in the run game vs the pass game, I hope we still utilize much of the run talent. A good pass threat should help the RBs find space. Also, I like the idea of using the RBs in the pass game…and who knows, we might actually throw to a TE.
Monken will have spring and all summer to work with the O…I’m getting a little excited.

Perhaps Kirby should have spent a bit more time with Kobe Pryor rather than Evans. Seems like Clemson feels like he was relevant to the Tigers. If he is even close to Chubb’s persona should have got a paid way on where he was from alone.

It was not too long ago so many were mad that Bobo was not brought back to Athens. Kirby after losing to USCe doubled down on manball. He did get his team to Atlanta while winning the the division for the third year in a row. I’m never going to be tired of getting to the SEC championship game. Yes I was very unhappy with the offense and still will not be happy until that Natty comes back to Athens.

However In just days after losing most of his offense he went out and got the best available seasoned QB, a proven legit OC, kept the former OC who is an outstanding recruiter while fully reloading the 5 star locker room. Add to that a defense he help hold together that might be better that last years SEC best. I so am happy Kirby has proven to me how wrong I was about his stubbornness to change.
If the 2020 team can stay healthy I need to check my inner CJD and not say I’ve waited all my life for a team like this. An offense that can manball when needed, receivers that can fly down field with an OC that will use the entire field via a QB who throws the deep ball really well. Backed up with a lock down defense the allows the OC to let it rip without fear.

It’s going to be a long summer.
