SEC Popcorn Wars: Junior vs. The Portal Master

Ole Miss flips a Florida commitment and, as you might expect, there’s jubilation in some quarters and “eh, we didn’t really want him” in others.

I have to admit this may be my favorite mix of SEC head coaches ever.

That brings a smile, but I didn’t see any juicy quotes from Mullen or the Kiffin Kancer.

These two will provide sideline (off-site) entertainment for as long as they are both around. It’s just icing on the CFB cake.

What’s the over/under on how long before Kiffin get’s caught cheating?

    • Over/under on “burner phones” junior has access to…..

      • I imagine an underground cave like Batman’s, called the Freeze cave, or something, where – instead of cool weapons and super hero costumes – there are a bunch of cabinets with burner phones, fake mustaches and sunglasses of various sorts. I also imagine some grad assistant taking Junior down there and, as he sweeps away cobwebs and engages in some poorly written expository dialogue, he says “no one has been down here for YEARS…”

Maybe I missed it but is DJ Durkin the DC for ole miss?

FU: This guy is a head case.

Also FU: If we get Zach Evans, I’ll be ecstatic! We’ll have an amazing class!

  5. Meanwhile, Tommy Tuberville campaigns for Senate. The SEC has always had personality to burn. Phil Fulmer notwithstanding. But I agree – we gots the secret sauce this year. Mickey’s allocation of the mons is well-founded. The unintended consequences of the mons shall be debated here for the foreseeable future. I love this community.

The most telling thing about the article reporting all the offers the kid had: UGA did NOT offer. If we didn’t even offer….

Somehow, Junior, two states away from Florida and in the opposite SEC division….has fired a shot across Mullen’s bow.
O’ Miss isn’t supposed to be able to flip kids from UF. That he was able to tells us something about both coach coaches.
If this becomes a pissing match between Junior and Mullen, my money is on Junior. But being in different divisions will probably keep it from getting to where I would personally like to see it.
Junior is going to do better than most are expecting at Old Miss.
I wish he could now somehow sign Evans away from UF (the Gator fans think they have him).

For very different reasons, this is best mix of coaches in the SEC since the ’70’s.
