Early betting lines for 2020

If the lines established at FoxBet are any indication, the Dawgs, for being highly ranked in the preseason, aren’t exactly getting a whole lot of love from Vegas.  Here are the three games listed involving Georgia, along with the initial spreads:

  • Georgia (+4.5) at Alabama
  • Auburn at Georgia (-3.5)
  • Georgia (-2) vs. Florida

I get the spread in the ‘Bama game, but the other two?  Hmmm…

  1. Let the season start and those will change….qb play, special teams play (kickers specifically)…those numbers for the barners and FU shouldn’t be taken lightly considering both have heisman winning qbs

Yeah, Bo Nix will possess the trophy on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and Trask on Saturdays, Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Is there already money down? Are those the initial spreads or have they been adjusted from something previous?
My first reaction to the Bama spread was “sounds about right”. My reaction to the Florida and Auburn spreads was: lotsa money going Gator and War Eagle already, and the bookies want to balance it out.

  3. Why would people be betting Auburn in a game played in Athens? They haven’t won in Athens since Tra Battle’s concussed 4-down conversion in 2005. Many of those games in the meantime have been blowouts. During this streak, Georgia has won the games in Athens by an average of 17 points if my early morning math is correct.

Maybe it’s bc we have a grad transfer qb, new OC, new o line coach and no spring practice.

  5. I actually put some money on UGA to win it all. (It was a vote of confidence, possibly influenced by the confidence influencing beverage known as “Tequila”. Not an affair of the heart.) I called the bookie and he happily agreed not to refund my “deposit” until the season was officially cancelled.
I got 7/1. What are they now?

Mine is a hybrid, coolest setup I have ever seen. He plays golf every weekend, takes no calls while the software does all the work 24/7. He never takes a call, or has to “run through the numbers” hundreds of times every day of the year, working long hours. He just uses an app and knows what has been bet, and how he/we are doing with just a tap on his phone. The job has changed dramatically.

Everyone should be taking the Dawgs instead of marveling at the info-ignorance of the odds. Give 7 pts for the two games questioned and up the odds. and a larger payback. I’m just gonna rob the local yocals because that’s more fun, but getting them to bet is problematic.

Isn’t this exactly how last season started as well. Many made a lot of money on that early UF line. I’ll gladly run it back in 2020.

Yes, it was the best bet on UGA of the pre-season, imo. Unfortunately, I think that Bama line is just as certain a win giving UGA the points. Not saying we can’t compete with them later in the season but this is too early with all our new faces, and Tuscaloosa is one tough place to play.
