A Power 5 coach I talked to highlighted a recruiting concern during the CFB hiatus: "I’m hearing some schools are squeezing kids into committing, putting the fear like, ‘When this thing opens back up, that scholarship’s not going to be there.’ That’s just the wrong thing to do."

Clemson and Ohio State both like to lock up their classes early. That sounds like the kind of weasel crap that Dabo would pull.

Might work with a 2-star wanting to attend gtu or utk, but that approach ain’t gonna cut it with a 5-star or most recruits in the top 300.

Pretty stupid ploy with 8-11 months to go before they sign. What are they going to do, chain them in the basement? Any adult (and yes, 18 is old enough to be responsible for their actions) that cannot wiggle out of a verbal commitment in that length of time should face some unhappiness. How intimidating is another adult groveling on their knees while kissing your ass?

Just another reason these kids need to be allowed legal representation.
