Damn, Fromm threw deep more often than Eason? Surprised because Eason had more arm strength.

Who’s been saying we didn’t throw the ball deep? I thought the consensus was we were one-dimensional in the passing game because we threw overwhelmingly to the sideline (both short and long) and abandoned the middle of the field?

Yeah I agree. Fromm threw about 20 passes a game. Pretty easy to throw deep balls when you throw for so little.

“Pretty easy” is doing a lot of heavy lifting there if you ask me.

The chart includes 2017 and 2018 as well as 2019, for what it’s worth.

Did UGA go deep more often in 2017 or 2018?

Well, we don’t know, do we?
My guess is yes, especially in 2018.

Is percentage of throws that were deep a good metric here? Fromm attempted 150 fewer passes than Burrow, for instance. In absolute terms I’d be surprised if UGA and Fromm were in the top 5.

It’s not that we never threw the ball deep. It’s that we never threw the ball over the middle.

We threw deep plenty of times. A lot of them were still the back shoulder type, with overthrows, under throws, and drops sprinkled in.

Fromm threw more then a few 40+ yard shots.
Problem was the receivers were 50+ yards down field.

Mason had a stronger arm.
Joe T III is the last arm I’ve seen that is weaker than JF at Georgia.

Problem for you is, that’s 100% untrue. Fromm had more overthrows than underthrows on deep balls. See you next Tuesday.
