Saturday Dawg porn

C’mon, admit it — you could use a little.

“George Pickens had this great year despite… Georgia’s offense, passing offense, I mean anybody that watched them this year, including Georgia fans, would tell you that it left a lot on the table, a lot to be desired,” Power said. “You look at maybe the offense last year or in the 2018 season, Mecole Hardman had 500 receiving yards in that offense and obviously out performed that a bunch in the NFL. It was an offense at Georgia that was a lot more run-focused and didn’t really spread the ball around a lot from a passing standpoint. So I think with Todd Monken coming in, Todd Monken is known as a hyper-aggressive offensive coach, play caller.”

It would really suck to get teased like this for the next four months and then have the season yanked out from under us, wouldn’t it?

Why do people lie about Mecole’s production going up at kc? I’ve seen it more than once. It’s complete bullshit.

The answer to your question is too awful to contemplate, Senator.

He had a great year because of their passing offense…..not a lot of dependable receivers to choose from (getting jammed LOS, wrong routes, drops and etc).

I would be happy as hell with another year like last season if others step up. He is a helluva player, love his fire…..just needs to control his temper.

    Gotta feeling he will.

Over the past few years the occasional back shoulder throw was well run and nearly a thing of beauty. Then it seemed like it became the focus of our passing game.

But back to Brother Bluto’s point, I’m starting to get to the point where I’m more worried about Kirby holding Monken back than I am about the season being cancelled. If, in 3 months, the testing isn’t quadrupled or more from the current pathetic pace, people are gonna be more than furious. Testing remains the key. It’s how we control Covid-19 and re-plan our activities until there’s a vaccine.

Yup – but can we ever test 300 + million? I highly doubt we will get to that level in years much less months. I’m hopeful but far from optimistic.

IMHO the most important thing is to develop an effective treatment. Once people know there is a cure if they get the damn thing then, and only then, will they be willing to start being in crowds again. Fortunately it appears that several potential treatments are being tested right now. Hopefully one will be established as a cure.

One would like to think that a guy with Monken’s experience doesn’t take the job without making sure his potential boss understand that it’s his offense, and he doesn’t need a defensive minded coach dictating every move he makes. And also that CKS is experienced enough to understand and except that.

The bar was set so low last season, it won’t take much of an improvement to make us grin like a kid with a new toy on Christmas morning. If it is even close to what they hype is, we may all pass out from the excitement.

Er…TD….Georgia went 12-2 last year. And one loss was in double OT. And the other loss was to the eventual national champion. The bar was set “so low?”

This is the mentality brought about by so much success. It can be irritating but a nice problem to have. We’re not so willing to accept or expect losses anymore.
Just think where we would have ended if our offense would have gotten on track. I feel we were so close at times. It seemed that we were willing to pass the ball but had enough failures in the attempt that we abandoned it more often than we should.
In any case, I sure hope we get to see Monken and our offense in action. I salivate at the thought of a vertical passing game, with down hill running, sandwiched between a dangerous short passing game to a talented backfield…oh, and TEs catching passes.

Not really, it was a loss we shouldn’t have on our record but far from a humiliating game. UGA dominated the game more than others but lost on the scoreboard in double OT. With a 4-0 turnover margin against us. and how we rolled over them in other key stat areas, the scoreboard doesn’t look like how the team performed, or how you should feel about it. I have felt worse in some games we have won where we shouldn’t have over the years.

If you think with the talent UGA has that the offense was acceptable last year, then you must be very easy to please. Last year was due to the defense in spite of the offense.

Yeah, I mean, what other explanation can there be? Dawgs with the best roster and finally a comprehensive, experienced, and professional coaching staff = We’re not going to have a 2020 season due to health concerns. It just means that all the starts are where they belong in the universe.

(I’m kidding of course, not trying to make light of the health of the kids and fans)

Watched a replay of Wake Forrest & Elon today. Newman (I know – I know – Elon) looked great. Nice touch and nice runs when he needed to run. He took a huge hit from a untouched blitzing 230 LB and shook him off. Bottom line he will do well.

I guess if we don’t play this year he will get another year – anybody know?
