Diminished returns

I’ve been expecting this…

Bet you that four-year term is negotiable, too.

Senator – By sports sponsorship minimums, I assume you mean the number of sports a school must offer to remain in Title IX compliance. If so, say goodbye to 2-3 sports and/or scholarship reductions.

  2. Why is anyone surprised about this? The football Group of 5 + leagues like the Big East that play big-time basketball (but either don’t play football or play FCS football) want the restrictions reduced, so they can eliminate non-revenue sports, maintain their D1 membership, and keep their slice of the March Madness pie. If anyone thinks those restrictions will be temporary, they are naive.

Once again, don’t let a good crisis go to waste.

Money making sports would freed from propping up as many of the others. Can someone lay out the downside? My first impression is that I don’t want fewer people playing sports but I don’t think I see the need for all the spending to get people outside and running around.
