Your Daily Gator thinks Georgia is doomed.

Why?  Because the quarterback who went 3-0 against Florida (by a combined score of 102-41!) went in the fifth round of the NFL draft.

It wouldn’t be a Swamp247 comment thread without at least one poster genuflecting in the direction of the Portal Master™.

Now before you scoff, you might take note there is expert opinion backing them up.

Screenshot_2020-04-27 QBs should think twice about going to play for Kirby

Fromm against Tech:  3-0, by a combined score of 135-35.

I’m beginning to think talent doesn’t mean what they think it means.

Funniest thing about all this is that these have been the same people insisting Georgia’s offense is due to decline in 2020 because Fromm left early for the NFL.

These are fun to read. I like this comment…

“Remind me again what Kirby has won with all dat talent? Now look at what Dan has done and tell me who’s better.”

Did Dan when a Natty when I wasn’t watching? How many times has he won the East? I guess I’m confused about the goals. One gator predicted that if we have a season, Dan will beat Kirby this year.
We buy our recruits. Kirby will continue to change coordinators at a Muschamp pace and we will run Smart off in 3 or 4 years.

As I said, these are fun to read…

Well, there was that one time Mississippi State was ranked #1 in the very first CFP poll.

Then lost to tech in the Orange Bowl.

  2. They really do sound like us in the 90s when we were convinced that Spurrier was going through defensive coaches like nobody’s business, Handbag alumni were paying recruits (of course, there was recent history to support that), and Donnan was going to be the guy to change things.

Anyone who takes the NFL draft as a measuring stick for coaching prowess has no idea what they are talking about. Those GMs look a hell of a lot more at measurables and the combine results than they do at film.

If Kirby and his guys were so bad at development, then why did an out-of-shape freshman five star like Isaiah Wilson eventually end up as a first round pick? I would say Sam Pittman and Scott Sinclair did a pretty damn good job molding him into a pro prospect right tackle.

We’ll be ready in Jacksonville, Georgia, Handbags.

November is coming again, Nerds, except this time you’ll have 90,000 against you rather 35,000.

He’s Schrodinger’s QB: Jake Fromm was way overrated and had little to do with UGA’s success. Without Jake Fromm, UGA’s offense is doomed.

Good luck making all that fit, Handbags.

That idiocy is why this standard response is the best response.
    Fuck those motherfuckers.

I love reading this. Makes it so much sweeter when we give them a beating this fall as usual.

Gotta love those booger eaters dunkin’ on CKS for new OC’s the last three years by describing it as being like Muschamp. The guy those same booger eaters hired and then fired four years later.

Off topic a bit, but I was wondering why the Jets took Zuniga. They drafted fu’s Polite in round 3 last year and he was cut before they broke camp.

I hadn’t thought of it like this, but what I am taking from this is that we beat UF three years in a row with a shitty QB. How bad will it be this year assuming we play? With out D and better QB, I think the wise move for the gambling types is to take UGA and lay the points.

Oh, one more thing: when Chaney left and some were rejoicing that Coley was going to open ‘up the playbook’ and ‘take the reins off’, etc., etc., I predicted that we were going to miss Chaney. I just had to say that. 🙂

Mullen is 0-3 as HC against Kirby-coached teams with more talent. UGA is arguably more talented than ever after the last 3-4 classes in a row. Not sure how that’s an encouraging trend for UF fans.

Mullen was even able to outcoach and beat a more talented LSU team 2 years ago. But he hasn’t figured out how to outcoach Kirby.

For someone who has literally won nothing in his coaching career I just don’t get the love for Dopey Dan. You hear pundits talk all the time about how great of a coach he is and he sucks against top 10 and top 25 teams. That Miss St team that was ranked #1 for a brief second in 2016 beat a bunch of tomato cans and then promptly lost to KY. Other than the odd win over a down Auburn or underachieving LSU what is his “signature” win? Michigan in the Peach Bowl? Virginia in the Orange Bowl? For Pete’s sake he lost to TECH in the Orange Bowl.

(Georgia fans): “Hey, gators…we’ve won three in a row on you and two of those were beatdowns by at least three touchdowns!!”

(Gator fans): “Yeah, but you did it with a shitty quarterback!!”

    (Georgia fans): “Umm…okay.”

Florida Man now bandwagoning on tech fan’s one last shot across the UGA bow: 1980

If UGA ever wins a national title again, what will they cling to?

Just ran the #s. You have to go back to 1979 to count up six first round draft picks from Tech… So, that gap is probably not closing in gtphd’s lifetime.

    2010 1 16 Derrick Morgan
    2010 1 22 Demaryius Thomas
    2007 1 2 Calvin Johnson
    1998 1 12 Keith Brooking
    1992 1 12 Marco Coleman
    1979 1 15 Eddie Lee Ivery
