“I’m not a stats guy, I’d rather win the game.”

Reggie Ball, Tech Legend, has only one regret from his illustrious career.

There is only one regret for Ball when he looks back on his career, he was 0-4 against UGA.

“My only regret is not beating that mediocre fucking team from Athens,” he said.

He actually repeats that in the same interview.  Sounds like the perfect epitaph.

We still love you in Athens, Reggie.  Thanks for stopping to smell the roses.

I think we should have a giant inflatable Reggie outside the stadium every year when the game is played in Athens.

  3. Dog, we allow mediocre players like Mohamed Massaquoi, Sony Michel and George Pickens to wear your unofficially retired number at UGA. I’m sure they are doing the number a disservice to your legacy as an all-time great.

Learn to count to 4, Dog. Did the geniuses at the North Avenue Trade School teach you that in your Calculus V class?

Hey, Dog, if we’re mediocre, what’s that make your ratty school?

If I may quote the Senator: “Legend” is doing some heavy lifting there.

At least he’s learned how to control his emotions. He sounds pretty bitter about the whole experience. What’s astonishing is him giving up his lucrative engineering career to work at a gym. But he’s just another example of what Tech people are always telling us. They recruit a much higher caliber student athlete than we do. Reggie, Stephon Marbury, Javaris Crittendon, Reuben Houston….. I could on and on.

” I could on and on.” PLEASE DO! We never tire of reminiscing about all the wonderful community leaders, student athletes, world changers, that the wonderful trade school on North Avenue churns out in the mold of those mentioned above.

Sorry, Reggie, but butthurt has NOT been proven to be an effective treatment for coronavirus.

His stellar legacy in the big one: ’03: Attacks the Powerade table, has to leave game at the half with fake concussion; ’04: the big one- how many fingers am I holdin’ up, dog? ’05: Seals the deal with a late pick to Jennings; ’06: His masterpiece, in my opinion- caps a horrible night by fumbling to Tony Taylor; sulks off field with his helmet on.

Leads the GT to 49 points total in his only four meaningful games (if you count the half he sat out in ’03).

My favorite other moment of his was when he stepped out of the back of the end zone to ring up 2 free points + a turnover in a loss to Virginia Tech.

I thought GTU guys were supposed to be smart. Irony, Reggie, how does it work, dog?

He probably still sees that pass floating out of bounds on 4th and Ball when he closes his eyes

Naw. His memory starts after that when he was told that was his last down. Hell, he was proud of that toss all the way into the stands and up to the time a teammate gasped”WTF?”

It was actually very catchable for Todd. No real reason for him not to catch it.

Of course, Todd is my buddy that was working on the Sanford grounds crew that fall.

    Ha! Kettle meet pot.

My only regret is Reggie didn’t get a 5th year of eligibility.

  16. Winning only 58% of his games was not really winning games if you factor in that he played against ACC competition.

  17. Nashville West

I noticed in the article that he never played Canadian ball. Figures, they only have 3 downs there.

Reggie needs to get an invitation to any and all future Get The Picture tailgate parties.
