The Vols had a pretty solid recruiting week and jumped Florida for the current top spot in SEC recruiting (per 247), so that’s probably the impetus for the post.

That’s why I provide the link, These Florida chat images are really tiny and hard to read.
By the way, UF is one of the programs UT still trails in average recruit rankings.

Outstandingly candid remarks, and he’s (IMO) absolutely right. I and others have been saying for quite a while that Dan’s arrogance and not wanting it badly enough ultimately will lead to his ouster at UF.
For example – and apologies if you’ve seen this from me before – Mullen spends a TON of time at his Lake Oconee home. During the season, off-season, during key recruiting times, etc, he’s often there instead of working/recruiting back home. I’ve literally seen tweets about Smart just leaving a prospect’s home while getting texts from friends/family members in the area stating they just saw Mullen yet again out and about around the lake.
Simply put, I just don’t think Mullen wants it as bad as the Saban’s and Smart’s of the world. OR, he has convinced himself that his genius (sic) and bankers hours can overcome the workaholic nature of his top rivals.

Sounds like Spurdog with less snark, wit, and genius.

That’s a fair assessment of cousin Eddie the Portal master. He can snake a win over the Dawgs with the proper amount of turnovers and maybe slime an East title. I tend to overlook Pruitt as I’m counting on his self destruction. However, he is one driven asshole and teaching kindergarten is still fresh in his mind.
Fuck those motherfuckers.

Pruitt is a great fit at Tennessee. I don’t think he wins them a Natty or anything close, but he will rebuild the program.

Is it just me or does the Gator message board feel a bit like Stingtalk when they realized that Johnson wasn’t a great offensive mind about to carry them to the promise land, and was instead a grumpy old codger who wins some but loses many?

It’s like the 5 stages of grief- you don’t necessarily experience them in order and you tend to cycle through them several times over.

I have always seen Kirby as a bizzarro version of SOS. An alumnus coaching at his alma mater, nursing old grudges. But he’s defense-minded, rather than offense. And just like Spurruer had to learn by getting his ass kicked by Nebraska that defense matters, Kirby had to learn the same about offense. And then there’s the penchant for visors…

Never thought of it that way, but everything you said made sense.

I like the commenter whose avatar is “House of Cards” with Kirby ’shopped into it. I’m sure he’d be the first to tell you that Georgia isn’t in his head at all, no siree, not one bit.

A moment of clarity from a Gator on the reality of their situation. Mark this on your calendar folks. Like Haley’s Comet, it happens about once a century. You might want to let your grandkids know where you were when this rare event took place.

My favorite reply in their thread had to be the one about Pruitt taking over a team with the second most talent in the division and has still had losing records. Talk about disregarding facts to fit your narrative…

It’s like they’re stuck in an endless Kübler-Ross, and I, for one, am very here for it.
