As 300-yard passing games in CFB are often the result of being behind and having to throw a lot…collective record of that crew in those games is 12-10.

It does mean something. It means War Eagle Cole Cubelic had lots of time to navel gaze and find stats to cherry pick to fit his foregone conclusion.

Fromm has 2 games —- in his career where he passed for 300 yards. Bama in 2018 and MIZ in 2017. I think we will be just fine continuing that tradition with Newman.

Oh, and Costello is about to double his total.

Cole has decided he’s going to be the Newman contrarian this year. He may be right, but his position is staked out, no matter what.

What does Costello’s ground game look like? Having to pass for your living means that you don’t have crap backing you up when you have to go one-dimensional.

I’m thinking that if this guy could catch a lick he could get Newman to 300 on about 5 catches:

Sneak the kid out there at least for one play Kirby!!
Line him up in the slot bring him in motion so they can’t jam him. Tell Newman to take a three step drop and throw it as high and far he can. Boling can be waiting for it in the ez like a punt about 20 yards behind the defense.
(We actually did this vs. Tech with a track guy in 1990. Dude was more open than you’ve ever seen. Would have have gone into half with the lead and maybe ruined tech’s nc season. I’m pretty sure that the ball shattered into pieces on contact.)

Having not seen the G Day QBR yet, can’t really comment whether “Hello Newman” will ever see playing time at Dooley Field….unless this cubelic fella has insight not discovered in the world of qb competition, got no use for him
