When your Daily Gator says he’s not pumping sunshine…

… well, you tell me.

Here lately, the board has been extremely negative and I understand why. I know there are some posters here who have lost all faith. Some are still on the fence as to what’s really going on and how some of these things happen or how they effect our future. I understand but I’d just like to give my 2 cents on everything going on and I hope it puts things into a better perspective and eases some of the negativity we have going on.

#1 – It’s never as bad as it seems. I believe this and it should be taken into account by posters here. We have so much to look forward to this upcoming season and despite what some would call “recent setbacks”, everything is going to work itself out in the end. It makes me want to remind people to not forget where we were under the Muschamp and McElwain dark days. Whether or not you want to relive those days is up to you. I’d personally rather not and will openly admit for the most part, I’m still proud we have CDM as our head coach.

He’s brought UF back to a respectable name in the CFB world after a number of years of embarrassment. He’s turned things around way faster than any of us ever expected, beginning with a very successful first season and followed up by a very exciting second season at the helm. There’s been numerous hiccups along the way during these first 2 years but he’s overcame them by the vast majority of measure. Granted, we all would like to see better effort/results on the recruiting front but in the big picture of things, they really aren’t “bad”. We have a team that’s been fun to watch and successful at that. I think some of our posters demand too much, way too quickly. If you don’t think CDM understands there are some issues revolving recruiting and keeping kids on campus after they sign right now, you’re mistaken. Not all of it his his fault though, even though some posters on here believe it is. This transfer portal has truly changed the game of College Football. I talk with coaches all of the time at different schools and they’ll tell you the same thing. It’s just way to easy for some of you to throw the blame at his feet. While I see why in few cases, it’s not that simple. Things go on behind the scenes that aren’t reported on and then everything becomes speculation.

Jeez.  It’s like reading about Mark Richt, except Richt had some conference titles under his belt.

I’m almost at the point that I’m going to have to quit doing these Daily Gator posts, because the “they’re just like we were a few years ago” angle is getting close to becoming a full circle.  At some point, they won’t we “like” us.  They’ll be us.

Don’t stop on my account. Handbag tears are a delicious garnish to our success. Remember the answer to the question “what is best in life?”

Schadenfreude. It’s what’s for dinner! FTMFs. You could just turn this into a blog on the lamentations of our enemies in the off-season. Talk about a unifying approach. 🙂

Keep twisting that knife Senator. Those gator trash twats earned every bit of ridicule you can heap on them.
    Fuck those motherfuckers.

    • Me thinks the FU booger eating bloggers maybe onto something, should the 2020 college football season not take place, future schedules are not as friendly as this years opposition, given FU’s crootin’ prowess plus the ad’s willingness to give their dc a much needed pay increase (for what ever reason), the hc’s hot seat won’t happen, but the whispering for potential staff changes will…#FTMF

  3. The fact Dopey/Sideshow/Portal Master Dan MuLLLet can’t put together a top 5 recruiting class in the most fertile talent ground in the country should show the Handbags something. For some reason, they are blind to it. That is absolutely fine by me.

Thank goodness the liquor barons never let McGarity hire him.

Daily Gators are the sunshine in my day, please don’t make them go away. Judging by the gator fans I know, they still have a ways to go to get to where we were in, say, 2009 or 2015. Their new savior needs a faceplant of a season, one where everything goes wrong that could.

According to some of those nitwits they are going to win a natty this year and we will lose 3 – 5 games.

I don’t see a big difference between Mullen and McElwain in terms of performance except that McElwain had already won the East a couple of times by now. So I don’t see where Mullen has lifted the program at all. Maybe recruiting is slightly better? But a ton of Mullen’s recruits last cycle never arrived on campus. So I’m not sure there either.

Honestly, I still don’t understand the fascination with Mullen. Perhaps I will see it this year but I hope not because it means bad things for UGA fans. His overall record at Florida is much higher than Muschamp and McElwain but has coincided with CKS in Athens. Muschamp had a trip to a BCS bowl in his second year and McElwain won two division championships.

Overall his record seems a bit spotty. At MSU & UF combined he is 11-34 against Top 25 teams. He has a decent record against his team’s intrastate rival (7-4), but against the traditional Big 6 of the SEC (Alabama, Auburn, UF, UGA, LSU, UT) he is 10-28.
      UT: 3-0
      UF: 1-1
      Auburn: 4-6
      LSU: 3-8
      UGA: 1-4
      Alabama: 0-9

Yeah there’s nothing that stands out to me in his first 2 years. Both McElwain and Boom each had 8 losses in their first 2 seasons at UF. Mullen has 5, so that’s a slight improvement. However, like Boom, Mullen has not been able to win the East his first 2 years, while Mullen did.

If the bar is simply wins and losses, Mullen does represent a slight improvement. However if the bar is post-season play, he looks more like a reversion to Boom.

And none of these 3 head coaches have figured out how to recruit/retain a quality QB.

So the Portal Master sucks at recruiting AND the portal?! You’d almost think he’s soaking fu for the big bucks while taking it easy at Lake Oconee.

They are a threat next year, no doubt in my mind. Our SECW draw is pretty tough…I see Ole Miss as a layup for UF. Jax will tell the tale.

Zach Evans reportedly enrolled at TCU. I’m sure our daily gator will take the news in stride.
