I know I get my jollies with the Daily Gator posts, but at least I’m making fun of Florida fans (who, to be fair, remind me of Georgia fans in past years).
When it comes to delusion, Tennessee appears to be eliminating the middle man.
This comes from a writer who appears to be affiliated in some form or fashion with USA Today. He is all freaking in on a “The Vols are back, baby!” narrative. His expert to bolster that? A former player of Pruitt’s.
He’s just getting warmed up, though. Here’s his column predicting the outcome of Tennessee’s 2020 season, again, with the same expert support. If you don’t want to listen to the podcast for the gory details (and you really should, if you are in need of a chuckle this morning), here’s how he breaks it down:
- Charlotte 38-6 W
@Oklahoma 23-31 L
Furman 56-3 W
Florida 30-17 W
Missouri 44-16 W
@ SCAR 37-14 W
Alabama 13-16 L
@Arkansas 40-13 W
Kentucky 34-17 W
@Georgia 27-20 W
Troy 42-13 W
@Vanderbilt 44-15 W
Presumably, UT gets its revenge against ‘Bama in the SECCG, because, why not?
(By the way, Georgia didn’t give up more than 20 points in regular season conference play in 2019, but the Urnge, which averaged 20 ppg in conference play last season, is breaking that streak? Against this year’s Georgia defense in particular? Sure, dude.)
Oh, and bonus crazy points for this:
A schedule breakdown can also be listened to on a recent “Tennessee Two-A-Days” show co-hosted by Valdosta High School head coach Rush Propst, along with George Bates as a guest.
Good to see Propst, a well-known neutral observer when it comes to all things Pruitt, has time on his hands right now to tend to something like this. Then again, we’ve always known he can multi-task.
21 responses to ““He is a force to be reckoned with in the East and ultimately the SEC as a whole.””
“We’ve always known he can multitask.” My only reaction:
JFC. He’s coaching in Georgia AGAIN? Rush Propst is a sociopath. He has NO BUSINESS working with young people. I wouldn’t trust him to work around prison inmates! How does this piece of shit keep getting his teaching certificate renewed?

Ever wondered what the distance between a swamp of despair and a sky is the limit outlook is? A recovered onside kick late in the game against Indiana in a middling bowl game.

If not for a non contact fumble by a stumbling Arkansas QB running out the clock, UT wouldn’t have that shiny 22 year old national championship trophy to throw in our faces either!
Which just goes to show you that, for any Championship team in any given year, ‘ol Lady Luck better be smilin’ upon you once or twice. For the life of me, I don’t know what we’ve done to piss her off.
I was coming into the comments to make more or less the same comment. My goodness, to go from struggling to beat the Indiana Hoosiers to going 10-2 and narrowly missing your first win over Alabama in more than a decade? What a turnaround!
Winnerville, USA – Propst should be a good fit.
I’m a Lowndes fan.

When the hell did this happen? I admit I don’t follow local news closely but, being here in SOWEGA you’d think I’d have heard this already?
Rick James: “Cocaine is a hell of a drug.”
“I love marijuana – Mary Jane – and you can print that! I smoke it every day and it’s the greatest thing since ice cream and I’m not afraid to say it.”
I never really liked cocaine, I just liked how it smelled. – Kinky Friedman
Tastes like chicken…
So… Hubbard borrowed that line?
Does anyone in their right mind believe that UT will get in field goal range 9 times against Kirby’s defense?

☝️This is the correct takeaway.☝️
I’ll take under 10 wins, he can name the price.

Call me when Florida, Alabama and since 2016, Georgia aren’t automatic losses for UT before proclaiming they’re contenders in the East. Same reason I knew their preseason hype in 2016 as division favorites was completely unfounded.
That’s a heckuva lot of points for a Chaney-coached offense. The writer forgot to include at least a couple head-scratching Chaney performances that will result in losses. They seem to think losses like Georgia State and BYU last year won’t happen again.
So what you’re saying is success early on the 2021 recruiting trail won’t help the team on the field for the 2020 season?
Need to twutter weekly reminders and score updates throughout the season.
I hate how no one is ever reminded of their shit talk from this time of year.
😂😂😂😂that last sentence is nuclear.
