Your Daily Gator is a winner!

In the transfer portal… with a guy who couldn’t break into the two deep at Georgia and two others who have “an injury history and must sit out pending appeals, but they’re the type of talents that can transform an offense if everything goes right.”

Remember, the Portal Master™ cannot fail.  He can only be failed.

Florida might not quite be recruiting at the level of their SEC East foe Georgia, but Mullen is scaling the gap through creative measures…

Florida, like everyone else, had its losses. The departure of offensive guard Chris Bleich (Syracuse) hurts the program’s depth up front. They also lost four-star freshman tackle Issiah Walker Jr. to the portal, the second season in a row a top 100 freshman departed Gainesville before playing a snap.

And this is supposed to be a favorable article.  Yep, you can feel that gap closing every day.

Same ol’ thing. The experts at the daily handbag assume all MuLLLen’s moves will work brilliantly and everything that can go wrong at UGA will go wrong. Just like every other model, it’s susceptible to the law of “garbage in, garbage out.” Call it “MuLLLen’s Razor,” I guess.

Mullen is closing the gap. He went from players that wouldn’t ride the bench at Georgia to at least one player that did actually ride the bench at Georgia.

With a thin OL and no talent at RB, how is Mullen going to remedy the run game? Run Trask a lot more? This time last year I predicted Franks would get hurt because he had no protection and was going to have to make plays with his feet. The same is true about Trask and possibly Jones. The injury risk at QB there is higher than ever. Trask was lucky to survive last season.

Apparently now they are not “closing the gap”, they are “scaling the gap”. I’m not sure there is any difference, but if there is it is certainly good for Florida and bad for us. “Scaling the gap” may need a Lexicon entry. Mullen is so smart he can probably figure out how to completely forego signing any high schoolers and go portal exclusively.

The only thing that the 3 Star General has done is slow the rate at which the gap is widening.

It would appear that Mullen still has not learned how to assign roommates properly. Go ahead Dan, keep putting decent kids in the same room as crack-heads and see what happens.
