Tell me you couldn’t use a little Townes Van Zandt and Nancy Griffith in your morning.

“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23

What a contrast in voices. Nanci sings like an angel and Townes, well, he’s Townes. That song works. Thanks Senator.
I mostly forget my Mama’s name is Carolyn. I call her Mama.

Steve Earle did a great cover of that song, too.

Just listened to that beautiful song having a cup of Joe on the banks of the Blanco River in Wimberley, TX! Thanks for that Senator, it made a special memory for sure.

I prefer Nanci’s version from Other Voices Other Rooms because her voice is so pretty, but there is a charm about TVZ and the pain in his voice. The writing is absolutely brilliant. It’s probably the saddest song I’ve ever heard.

I am a big Nanci Griffith fan. What I like about this is she is blending with TVZ so well. It’s not about her; it’s about the song. I admire that.

Sorry Senator but I could have gone the rest of my life never knowing who these two were and would have been none the less for it. I understand each of us has our own likes and dislikes. This kind of music does nothing for me.

That’s okay, mont. To each his own. That’s why I try to be as eclectic with the MPC as I can. Sooner or later, I’ll scratch your musical itch. 😉
