Hatin’

You have a good idea what’s in store for you in an article hyped by a tweet like this.

After reading it, I don’t think he hates Georgia.  I just don’t think he makes much sense when he writes,

Georgia is running circles around Florida on the recruiting trail, but Florida has the advantage this year on the field because of the quarterback situation and coaching — and the Gators will need that advantage, because Georgia’s defense will be one of the best in the nation. Dan Mullen pushes all the right buttons this time and knocks off Kirby Smart for only the second time in his career (1-11 in matchups as coordinators and head coaches) and Florida heads to the SEC Championship Game. The Gators will win double-digit games for a third straight year, a first for the program since Steve Spurrier did it six straight years ending in 1998.

How often is the better coach the one who’s lost eleven of twelve meetings?

I used to like him until recently. I’m a liberal guy, so his being a liberal guy never bothered me, especially because it didn’t come through in his writing as it has for others. However, his full-on embracing of wokeism and identity politics and pushing that message everywhere is a bridge too far.

It’s the, “He elevated Miss St (x)% above its talent baseline, so now he will do the same at Florida,” fallacy that opinionaters never stop falling for.

But the thing is, he elevated the Bizzaro Bulldogs to 4th from last and never really got any traction vs Bama, Auburn and LSU. He was there from 2009-17. He beat Auburn 3 times and LSU twice and never beat Bama. That’s 5-22 vs the 3 biggest programs in the division.

How come transfer quarterbacks are amazing and awesome unless it’s our transfer quarterback? People do realize that our transfer quarterback has played football right? And he was a pretty good quarterback on a bad team and now he’s still the same quarterback on a really good team. When he transferred and made the cross country trek did he forget how to throw a football? Or handoff?

Oh I know what it is, he didn’t get Spring practice and that’s what’s going to hold him down

We now get two extra weeks of practices and walk throughs to literally make up for not having Spring Practice.

      They need a new excuse.

      • Honestly I have long long thought that Spring practice was highly overrated and it’s been turned into media fair and an excuse to go hang out in a stadium. Work done by the individual off season is where its at. Joe burrow was using VR technology and other new tech to increase his quarterback skills. As an example.

Its an apples to oranges comparison. Of the two, Mullen has ALWAYS coached for the inferior program.

How did FU’s D suddenly become so good and how did Trask finally become the qb they said he was 3 years ago?

Again… this season is going to be full of the best “I told you so’s” for all these dumb pundit mf’ers who keep telling us that Sideshow Dan the Clown is some kind of genius coach and Kirby is just a lucky moron.

That’s quite a list of stupid assholes you’ve compiled there. It’s no coincidence they’re all on my ‘snap kick in the testicles’ list.

I will say this, on this list Barrett Sallee stands out as someone who’s usually pretty even-keeled, but he’s bought into the myth of Sideshow Dan the Clown. He doesn’t think Kirby’s an idiot like the writers at SDS do or some of the others like Woken, but he definitely is swimming with the school on his picks this season.

The real test will be Andy Staples. Weirdly enough, I think Mandel is likely to pick us to win the East as he’s been… complimentary of Kirby and Georgia lately. If Andy goes with the rest of the idiots I will have lost all faith in CFB media in total.

    • I mentioned keeping a list a few days ago ….you’ve gone all in. There’s no accountability after the season. They say all these things to get clicks or sell copy but then never held accountable come December

        I have it on a Word.docx.

I’m looking forward to the “I told you so’s.”

They’ll come November 1st. Why wait for December?

Not only 1 out of 11, but that lone win came in Kirby’s first season as DC. Dan hasn’t broken 30 points on a Smart defense in a decade.

I just don’t understand the mental gymnastics needed to justify his conclusions. I can kinda give him the QB point just because we don’t know how Newman is going to fair in the SEC. I am still baffled as to how pundits continue to trumpet Disco Dan as a better coach than Kirby. The numbers head to head and overall just don’t add up. There is literally no measurable point of argument where Kirby doesn’t win.

It’s also how the pundits unanimously believe UF will win literally every other regular season game. I mean there’s just no doubt in their minds.

Keep in mind Dan Mullen is also the man that ended UF’s million-game win steak against Kentucky. But his losses don’t count.

Mullen has done a lot with a little at Miss St. and UF, but us no excuse for having “little” at Florida at this point.

Kirby has made a few calls that blew up in his face on his way to winning an SEC championship, almost another, and playing for a third in a very down year where he also won 12 games.

But hey, Mullen has UF at a developmental “peak” (not really), so if you’re gonna pick them, this is the year.

  17. Wait, which year in the 90’s does this correspond to? When in the 90’s did we come in all pre season hyped only to realize that despite a few relatively good skill position players we were top to bottom not level with the reptiles?

The script has been flipped and I just looking to make the appropriate association as it will add to my glee as we pound those MF into the turf this year.

And wasn’t Mullen their second or third choice after Chip Kelly(?), but he declined and went to UCLA? It seems there may have been other one, too.
