Some things, you just can’t get enough of.

For me, one of those is the first seven and one-half minutes of the 2017 Cocktail Party.

I’ve seen my share of empty seats in the Florida section over the years, but watching Gator fans leaving in the first quarter is something I’ll be eternally grateful to Kirby Smart for.

  2. We were really in their heads, and it seemed like kirby had a super power to counter their play calling on O.

Thanks for including this today Senator. This was one of Georgia’s greatest teams IMHO. An honestly officiated final game and this team would have been national champion.

Patton, Shawshank Redemption, Top Gun, Tombstone, The 2017 Beatdown of Florida. Just a few guilty pleasures that you have to re-watch no matter how often you have seen them. I could see Kirby looking at Dopey Dan and saying “I’m your Huckleberry”

Mostly just the opening scene when Danger Zone is playing. The rest is good. That part is great. The new Top Gun? If it comes out this year that would be 34 years since the original. Kind of stretches the credibility even for Hollywood that he would still be strapping on a fighter unless they now have one with geriatric accommodations.

What an incredible game and a turning point in the rivalry. I remember going into that game we’d had a string of just embarrassing performances against some frankly pretty mediocre if now downright bad Florida teams (2014, ooof) but the Dawgs announced from the opening whistle that it was going to be a looooong day for the Gators. As someone who graduated from Georgia in the later 2000s, this was the first time I’d ever watched the Dawgs just completely embarass the Gators whereas I’d definitely seen the flip side waaay too many times.

2017 season is my favorite. The start of it all, if you will. I’m going to binge watch those games. What a blast to see again! We certainly had waited long enough for our time to shine and those Dawgs started it in current history. Thanks, guys and GO DAWGS!

Probably the most satisfying game to watch as a dawg fan. Complete destruction.

Reggie Carter didn’t get enough credit for his play that season.

Love when Gary mentions Sony wanting to do something against Florida and then the next play Sony takes it 74 yards to the house!

Their side of the stadium emptied like a toilet bowl. By halftime, we were signing their own cheers for them back to their lonely band. It was flipping glorious. I shall never forget that day.

I had fun posting pics of the Gator stands for some of my Gator cousins. Thought maybe I call the suicide prevention hotline for them. 🙂

Great edit, except they cut out the aftermath of Swift trucking Chauncy “Anyone can throw a slant” Gardner.

I’d love to see a similar whipping put on them this fall.

  13. Sony’s touchdown really got me thinking about Kirby philosophy. I didn’t freeze frame it, but looked like a trap play that was beautifully blocked. When facing all the defense on the line of scrimmage. . if you can pull that off then you’ve got nothing but green green grass ahead of you. And that’s gotta be part of what Kirby’s wanting with power play. Hes literally telling you what he’s going to do and then it comes down to who’s bigger meaner tougher stronger faster
