I don’t think that was really ever in doubt. Salyer has a bright future with what could be a large NFL contract ahead of him. If he does what Wynn and Thomas have done, we may be starting to refer to UGA as LTU in addition to RBU.

Earlier, there was a fair amount of talk that Truss would get first shot there.

Truss may be the future (although I really think that’s Broderick Jones after he puts on some good weight and Amarius Mims assuming he comes to UGA), but I think Salyer’s performance in Wilson’s place in New Orleans sealed the deal with Luke and Kirby. As a result, Cade decided to leave when he was told he was either moving back inside or to right tackle. I’m totally speculating on that.

Mays didn’t have the feet to be a LT. He was much more suited to play RT or RG.

I think Cade just didnt like not being treated like he was special. That O line Room was stocked with a lot of talent. I don’t think hes that briight and doesnt get good advice. At Tennessee he can be all that and a bag of chips but not receive the coaching and mentoring that put 2 OL in the 1st round this year from Georgia

He “doesn’t get good advice.” How could he if his father didn’t even understand how a folding chair works?

Will Friend and Jim Chaney are both quality OL coaches. They are going to have at least one OL go in the 1st round this year. He may be leaving because he wants to be special (IDK why he left), but he will get quality coaching at Tennessee.

Man I disagree with you there. I considered will friend to be one of our big problems. And not a fan of Cheney really either. Sound like a Tennessee fan. Please remind me in a year to this O line 1st round.

Anyone sleeping on this OL is sleeping with the devil. We have talent from RT all the way to LT.

Yep. I love the narrative that we’re “rebuilding” our OL. If we play this season, people will be surprised by this line.

Would you rather have all of your entire line made up of returning 2 and 3 star players or would you rather have a rebuilt line of 4 and 5 star players. For me, I’ll take my chances with the studs over the duds any day.

Damn. My money was on Andy McCollum

So it’ll be something like OT: Salyer, G: Shaffer, C: Hill, G: Cleveland and OT: ?? depending how competition shakes out. Throw in a hefty batch of young 5-star and 4-star giants for depth.
Four upperclassmen starting ain’t a bad situation at all considering we lost three starters to the nfl.

I do wish kinsley stayed. He could have been a 2nd rounder.

Only if he could have dropped 30 lbs and kept it off. He was pushing close to 350 last year. He got way to fat and slow.
