Before Spurrier they were below .500 all time. Plenty of you have you have seen the local fave bumper sticker:
    “GAMECOCK FOOTBALL
ANYBODY CAN HAVE A BAD CENTURY”

To add to the story (info is a few years old so some may have changed)
      * barely over 500 WP all time
      * only 1 conference championshop in history of the program (ACC in 1969)
*only sec teams they have winning record against are vandy and kentucky. I “think” there are only 2 or possibly 3 other power 5 programs they have a winning record against.

I lived in Columbia (the screen door to hell) for about 6 months so had to deal with the chickens when they had Lattimore and bozo the clowney (trust me THAT was fun having to listen to them when they beat us a couple of times and thought they were something special).

I remember when he was hired there, my thought was something to the effect that he is the exact quality of coach as they are quality of a program. Didn’t expect it to be THAT exact though.

  3. If Boom hadn’t got the benefit of a pure fluke, I’m betting he would have been out last year.

I don’t think he gets the benefit this year unless USCe can’t afford to buy him out in this economic climate. Excellent defensive coordinator … mediocre head coach.

    • Should the 2020 season (?) happen, Kirbs will continue his trend of having hc’s dismissed….BOOM step and take your going away check thanks for playin’ along….in an unrelated “man for the job” take, viewed of picture of Zeus (in uniform on the sidelines) and he has that Mr. Nick Chubb kinda’ look in his eyes/face….

      • It may be Kirbs but more likely Dabo. The Poultry fans in the Palmetto State can’t stand how Clempson has risen to the top of college football while they’re still … mediocre.

If we play this year, I imagine Kirby will have his “I just f’in want to eat” before that game this year.

This gives the phrase “Damning with Faint Praise” new meaning. Even Booms own kid came to UGA, if memory serves. He probably wanted to get away from his overrated , dickish Dad.

    • But in fairness, guys, the way the y support their team regardless of the above is the essence of “it just means more.” I’d rather South Carolina give their fans a SECC than Florida any day of the week. Great fans. Less spoiled than we are.

      Louisville .524
      Virginia .521
      Oklahoma State .518
      Purdue .517
      Baylor .512
      South Carolina
      NC State .509
      Illinois .505
      Kentucky .499
      Washington State .498

Someone had a post awhile back saying Tennessee was South Carolina with history.

I actually thought that South Carolina would pass UT to regularly become the third best team in the SECE. I was wrong. Kentucky did that.
