Greg McGarity has made his decision; now let him enforce it!

Yeah, I’m really looking forward to seeing how hapless Sanford Stadium ushers handle drunk “muh freedom!” Georgia fans on this one.

    He must mean they’ll be mandatory for the security guards that sit at the gates to make sure no fans sneak in.

    do we want UGA football and some fans
    the fans can screw it up by not doing the right thing
    if the players are working hard and doing the right thing then as fans lets support them. this is a nightmare and the Athletic Dept needs to know the fans will support them during these trying times

    According to the AJC earlier this week (I know, stay with me, I”m rolling), there have been a grand total of zero (0) citations written for failure to wear masks in the State.
    The fact of the matter is that the “ushers” in Sanford Stadium can’t get people to move out of the wrong seats, how the hell do you think they are going to deal with people who aren’t wearing masks???
    And part of this is the Governor’s point – a law which is not enforced is anathema and leads to the rule of men, rather than rule of law…

      Most people follow the law/rules whether they think they can get away with it or not.

      In short, a mandate works for a enough people to be worth doing even where enforcement is impractical.

    I know the season is delayed, but the first few games are going to be hot. People are going to remove their masks (even if momentarily) to get some air. So, the point of the masks will be negated to some degree.

    I don’t think that is a “muh freedom” thing. I find myself pulling mine down to take a deep breath while I’m in an air-conditioned Kroger.
