Another day, another hash tag

This time, it’s the Big Ten’s turn.

    How about a bubble? Have a football dorm that no can leave except for football activities which will be buses only. Virtual class and delivered meals. No visitors allowed. It’s working for the NBA.

        The players asked for a plan to stay safe. A bubble is a safe plan. What does amateurism have to do with being safe?

          I don’t think the players will like the college version of the bubble. No going downtown. No visits from the girlfriend or bringing a girl home. No post-game hugs from the family or going home for a weekend or holiday. No living off campus in the “name your downtown” posh apartment complex with your housing allowance. No off-campus parties. No dinner at “name your favorite spot.”

          Wake up in your ECV dorm room.
          Get on AA shuttle for breakfast and morning workout.
          Get on AA shuttle to take class online from Rankin Academic Center.
          Get on AA shuttle for lunch and preparation for practice.
          Have dinner at B-M training table.
          Get on AA shuttle back to Rankin for tutoring or homework.
          Get on AA shuttle to ECV.
          Play games online for a couple of hours.
          Go to bed.

          After a couple of weeks, these guys would be acting like this (think Groundhog Day meets Mudcat’s Impala):

            Sounds like minimum security prison. NBA players get paid enough to do that. CFB not so much.

              The NBA players were complaining about some of the nicest accommodations at the Mouse like it was Motel 6.

              You’re right about a college athlete. They’ve been asking for it, but I do t think they will really like what they get (or don’t get).

        Does safety/treatment not preclude amateurism….it’s sad but the person/group/conference that steps up and creates their own comprehensive plan will stop that negative PR…season or no, at least student athlete concerns are done…till the next time shit gets ugly

      Huma can’t wait for the union dues to start rolling in……next Huma will have an agency to represent the players advertising and professional contracts if he doesn’t already.

    What if every UGA student gets the virus at roughly the same time in mid-August ? Herd immunity is 3rd rail talk these days, but the CDC sure as hell is operating as if anyone who had it is essentially a non-risk within a 3 month period of having the virus. Justsayin’

      They should delay school and then have a 1 month herd immunity bash in Athens…….dollar beers, bars open late… totally voluntary of course. Let the knuckleheads who would be spreading it anyway shit-the-stupid out of their system while the more sensible are not in their presence.

      Might work, you would need additional 3-4 weeks for antibodies to kick in. So that would get you to kickoff. Be a bummer is one or two of the guys got really sick or had a post viral syndrome, or even permanent injury due to illness. But like they say ……… nevermind, I won’t go there.

    It’s like the players don’t want the season to happen. They think they are exercising their power, but they are giving the administration an easy excuse to say “well, you asked for it – no season” – when the administration knows it’s likely the season won’t happen anyway. Any swing of the pendulum just swang (if you’re from where I’m from) back.
