    The way some people are complaining about masks, you’d think they were being told to wear hazmat suits or walk around with a bear trap clamped to their leg or something. It’s a freaking mask, people. One that doesn’t even cover your entire face. Sack up and quit whining.

      Well said, and I fully agree. The unending whining about masks has gotten intolerable, as if anyone wanted to hear it in the first place.

      I’ve done many webinars this summer with college students in Europe and India. One of the images I show them is from 1920 as the world was winding down the last throes of the Spanish Flu pandemic. The image is of a group of Californians wearing masks. One lady was wearing a sign in addition to her mask: “Wear a mask or go to jail”. They treated it seriously then as that pandemic was quite deadly. Wearing a mask is a small thing to do, to help out in a big way, so we can try to get back to a state of normalcy.

    The last part of the governor’s statement reflects my feelings on it. I don’t like wearing the mask any more than anyone else, but we’ve got to do it. As a manager, I also have to enforce the mask policy at my workplace, and it can be ridiculously frustrating having to remind grown men to wear their face mask.

        I think that with covid, as with many other things, no one thinks it will happen to them. Like all of those spring breakers early on who thought it only affected old people. No one thinks they’ll be the one to get sick or the one to spread it to other people.

      Yep.
      I bought gaiters(?) for my guys. We wear them around our necks and pull them up when we enter a building. Soak ’em in cold water and they’re great for keeping cool outside.

    I wear it when I go in a store because retailers or most store owners are requiring it now for entry. I don’t go to places outside where distancing isn’t possible. I get in and out of the place as quickly as possible now. I’m not going to a store to browse right now, so no impulse buying for me.

    Look for a mask with a polypropylene filter (same thing in N95s) if you want to really avoid getting and spreading the coronavirus. My thoughts: if i gotta wear one, it may as well do the job.

      EXACTLY! Told my wife yesterday as we were driving around Houston that most of these “masks” we are seeing don’t do a damn thing concerning the Corona virus!

      I could be wrong, but I understand airlines, like Delta, don’t allow the masks air filters. Seems odd to the average Joe, to say the least.

    People, the jig is up. Masks aren’t perfect but they help a whole lot. They’re critical to reduce infections for the whole population, and reducing the whole population’s infections is the only way to get CFB. You can accept that and still vote for Trump and believe he’s done a great job handling this thing.

    We cannot do the same things to quarantine players like the pros for a number of reasons. Even if we could they’re not really working in the closest comparable sport, baseball, and that’s got far less contact than football.

    The only way the players can be safe enough to play is if the whole population reduces infections a whooole lot. So please wear masks and avoid doing things in public that aren’t really necessary. You’re still allowed to vote republican if you do.
