Bad news, bad news. The Mars magic didn’t work.
I wonder if that means Georgia didn’t offer its enthusiastic support.

Cade Mays’ immediate-eligibility waiver from the NCAA has been denied, but Tennessee is appealing it.

I wonder if that means Georgia didn’t offer its enthusiastic support.
“Not playing for NIL deals. Not playing to go viral. Not playing for TikTok,” (Nolan) Smith said. “Playing for the guy next to you and being able to push with him through tough situations. I would love for the guys to take that into next year. Don’t play for money. Play for your ‘why’ — why you play football.”-- The Athletic, 7/20/22
I’m trying to think of a reason why they may have denied it, put I can’t put my finger on it.

Or if you’re Mrs. Mays… in it.

But the legal argument about the mother’s “lack of consortium” because Mr. Mays couldn’t do his husbandly duties because the dumbass cut off his pinky in a folding chair in Athens seemed like such a slam dunk!
… SHOCKER!!!

I wonder how many appeals related to intra-conference transfers have been approved. I just don’t see the NCAA being willing to agree to allow a player to be eligible immediately to transfer within a conference.

Very few if any. It’s the one thing the NCAA has shown any consistency regarding the transfer process.

That’s right. A stupid decision by the Mays family. If this legal case were such a big deal, they should have encouraged him to follow Pittman to Arkansas or gone out of conference. The fact it was Tennessee showed it was his hillbilly, one-pinkie-short father didn’t like that he wasn’t the toast of Knoxville anymore.

Oh, that poor thing. Hope his dad’s hand-ling this OK.

The only thing keeping this from being my favorite blog commenting thread of the year is it was posted so late at night. Might not get the traffic it deserves.

Hey guys, I heard the Mays’s Lawyer used this as his reasoning for needing an immediate eligibility waiver in front of the NCAA.
I guess they thought it did make sense.

There will be a lot of finger pointing on who’s to blame for this decision.

“Of all the waiver cases I’ve been involved in, I’ve never seen anything quite like this one,” Mars wrote in an email to the Knoxville News Sentinel. “For the sake of everyone who loves college football, I hope I never see another one.”
I guess the NCAA wasn’t as shocked as Tom was

I have been considering that if Fields and Mays had just stayed put, they’d still be planning to play this year on a top 3 team.

Tennessee needs a mastermind to help them navigate these political waters. Like if this was Game Of Thrones, they need a LittleFingner

Okay. That’s it.
That “wins” this commenting section. We can shit it down, because not even a Badfinger reference would be better.
