Stetson Bennett, by the numbers

The Mailman is delivering when it counts.

Those third down numbers are eye-popping.  Must be why he’s ranked second in Total QBR.  (That’s nationally, not a conference ranking, by the way.)  In a non-G-Day context, to boot!

    He certainly has calmed a big fear of mine. Taking care of the ball not feeling the need to make every play a work. He is much more in control and comfortable even under heavy pressure than I expected. It really is a great story after hearing he was told by Monken your number 5 on the depth chart and not going to start.

    Stetson really showed he can handle it last Saturday night. Our dominant OL play certainly helped, but Bennett was calm, went through his progressions and made good throws. The TD to Pickens was as good as you can throw it.

    One question on the “passes 20 yards down the field”. Is that passes where the ball traveled at least 20 yards, or pass plays that gained at least 20 yards?

    Right now, I’m just hoping his throwing hand is okay. Seems odd we haven’t gotten more of an update on that other than Kirby’s dismissive “He’s fine”.
