This week, in smug

Judging by this…

and this

  • I’m still not convinced that Georgia is very good overall. Very good lines? Absolutely. Great team speed on defense? You bet. Great at capitalizing on mistakes? Amen. But a good team? I’m kinda’ iffy on that proposition. We’ll see how good this week when the Dawgs play the first offense with a pulse they’ve seen all season.

Roll Bama Roll is gonna be a real treat to read over the next few days.

Thing is, until we beat them they have every right to spew

Agree completely. They’ve earned the right to whistle.

But isn’t this statement also justified: We’ll see how good this week when Bama plays the first defense with a pulse they’ve seen all season.

Having a giant fucking trophy case and in door plumbing does not give them the right to spew elephant shit….UGA still needs to get that “W” big time, sooner than later….

What’s the definition of good overall if not the exact things they mentioned we are good at?? Do I not understand the term “good overall” correctly?

I worry about our offense against Alabama because there is no way that Bama’s defense can be as bad as it looked last night and they will be ready for us. With that said, Bennett is tough and can see the field, if he is able to have success early and play with momentum then we can hold our own against Bama.
Our defense will have it’s hands full but I want to see how Jones does under pressure against an elite defense. For all the points they’ve put up this far, the best defense they’ve played is a long way from what our defense is doing. Our defense can improve and we will have our hands full with their WRs and Harris.

We have to get to Jones. I feel good about our pass rush but that is really the key. We can’t let him sit back there for 2 – 3 seconds because their receivers will get open.

UT did a lot against us we’ll see this week and hopefully we’ll get better at it.

Several times UT sent an unblocked rusher and our receiver didn’t react. Bennett saw it and it didn’t become a sack but its still a concern.

Several times they showed the downfield coverage and UT had all our guys locked up. Bennett can’t the ball far enough to put a fright in anyone.

UT wasn’t able to hold up over time but I think they showed a weakness. If you can play man with inside leverage and prevent the short to intermediate crossing patterns Stetson likes, we’re going to have a hard time beating it.

We need to be able to run the ball better. Zeus needs to get his damn eyes up and his feet underneath him. He’s just not running like a natural back. He runs like a weight room king. The hole was there on 4th down at the 1. It opened right up.

Yesterday was ‘bad’ Bama. Still Bama, but not normal Bama. I wish we could have played ‘bad’ Bama. They have time to correct their mistakes and Nick will be on their asses even more. That’s ok – we will have improved also! SIC EM DAWGS!!! BRING ON BAMA!

I imagine the point of Ole Miss worrying him the most was the look ahead factor, that Bama wouldn’t take Ole Miss as serious knowing we were the following week. Saban’s teams are typically dialed in for big games so I don’t think we’ll be sneaking up on them perhaps the way Ole Miss may have. I do like our chances to win if our offense can get into 20+ point range since I think our D can neutralize their O to an extent, but Stetson is gonna have to play clean and not press. Unleash the Monken!

Kirby is your team Man Enough to go into their house and win?
Asking in honor of coach Pat Dye.

Whatever it takes to keep the ball in front of the defense and don’t allow Jones to get comfortable. We can’t afford to let those slow to develop long downfield plays to happen. Make them drive 12+ plays to score. Do that and we have chance.

On offense we must have a dependable and explosive running game. We have not had a long run from scrimmage since the 2017 team. I’m not sure who that #1 back is right now. There is plenty of talent coming off the bench. Ball security maybe the reason holding a couple of guys back. I’m not used to seeing RBU tailbacks holding the ball away from the body with the ball in the wrong hand. That’s a recipe for fumbles. To beat a Saban defense you half to take the top off with deep strikes. It’s how we took early leads the last couple of games. That’s what Kiffin knew and was able to do yesterday.

The Gumps are soft this season. Could it be the result of losing their strength coach?

  10. We can win, but I don’t think we can win with Zeus as the No 1 back. We’re going to need first downs, which means we need a back with vision.

You must mean AFTER 2018. Like 2019 and 3 games this year.

Yes, sorry if the language wasn’t clear, since the 2018 season, so 2019 and the three games we’ve played this year.

To take the exercise further, alabama is (3-2) against the AP top 25 over the same period while we’re (7-1)

Note: AP ranking is ranking at time of kickoff.

Look, they’re a great program, our team has flaws and until we beat one of them, the narrative will remain that the CFB universe is alabama, ohio state, clemson then everyone else (accurately so) but they’re delusional if they don’t think this team is fully capable of beating them in their house.

I love it. In fact, I think Bama will probably win a close one this week, which is fine. Because we are going to hammer them in Atlanta, so badly that they won’t even get into the playoffs.

When did RBR become The Swamp? A bunch of delusional assholes.

Yeah after 3 games I’m not sure georgia alabama isn’t a double header or even best of 3 this year. The rest of the league doesn’t look to be on the same level as the two of us.

Yes, Bama fans are assholes. Most of them don’t know that much about football but believe that being a Bama fan makes them something for the rest of us to be in awe of. I am in awe of most of them, but not for the reason they think. I am in awe of the level of assholiness they have achieved by completing the simple task of deciding to join a cult of dickheads.

Our offense isn’t ready yet. It’s still coming together. I’m thinking we lose in Tuscaloosa 28-20.

December 19th seems like a real good time to beat Bama, though.

  15. For me, the Biggest threat from Bama is what they’ll be ready to do with the long ball that SBIV consistently underthrows.

It’s a glaring weakness that’s been displayed each of the last three weeks.

Bama will be ready for it. We may beat them in 3rd-down conversions, time of possession, total yards, etc etc etc and still lose because of one or two key interceptions.

Agreed about SBIV and the interceptions. As much good as he has done, I think Bama’s elite talent is going to make him pay for some of his gunslinging. But given our defense and Monken, I like our chances much better than I did a few weeks ago.

    • We need to run. And not #3 IZ 3 times in a row running. The mid range will be there if our run game is decent. You know Brady wasn’t always heaving it. Lots of 5-20 yards with good YAC and good calls with good reads.

So yes I just said that we need to be the patriots. I mean that’s not too far a stretch is it?
