“I’m just going to come in, put it the work and get the respect from my teammates and help them do anything I can do to help the team win.” — Tykee Smith, UGASports.com, 4/4/21
Its unreal to be honest. Very cool for him. Its hard to imagine he loses the starting job barring injury. He just seems like a real cool customer in the pocket. Very impressed with him.

My favorite thing about this stat is this is why we were so excited about Newman.
And the best thing I heard from Danielson in Saturday about SBIV is his quote that “if it ends tomorrow, it will still have been awesome. But I don’t want it to end tomorrow.”

He certainly doesn’t lack for confidence and might be the calmest QB in the pocket I’ve ever see.

Honestly, I think my favorite play he made Saturday was when he stepped up in the pocket and fired the out to Jackson.

My favorite was when Tennessee was obviously offsides and he decided to chunk it deep.
I have seen the damn kneel too many times.

You must not remember David Greene, an older Stafford, and Aaron Murray. I truly hope Monken pulls out that Cool Hand Luke PA play where our SB just lazily walks backwards after the fake handoff and finds Pickens deep behind the safeties.

Greene is the closest comp I could come up with. James Franklin at Missouri a while back was close to. Just in no hurry back there at all.

Have to establish a decent run game, and perhaps have a QB minded coach. But that was a heck of a thing Greene could do.

I thought that as well, until I watched highlights of the Mizzou game…their QB looks to be in slow motion throwing the ball as he has no real “step into” his throws.
SBIV is A OK in my book…very proud of the way he is leading our team!

On 680 this morning, they were just ragging on him about not being good enough or big enough for the NFL, etc. WGAF!

I’m not wanting to be critical at all about a guy who wins games , but is anyone else surprised about how well he is showing in the stat rankings ?

I remember feeling the same about Fromm. He was never spectacular except in the Rose Bowl and the first half of the championship game in 2018 but he still made a lot of lists.

pretty good sign considering that’s against the #6,7, 8 pass defenses in SEC, to date compared to Bama/Jones vs 3 of bottom 5 pass Ds.

Of course, that begs the question of whether those pass defenses are ranked low because Mac is so good and lit them up so bad their rankings went in the toilet…

Impossible. I have it on good authority he has a cap gun for an arm.

I’m old as dirty he reminds me of Eddie “The Barron” LaBarron of the Washington Redskins (no offence intended). Dude was short even for a 50-60’s QB but he was a baller.

I ain’t that old, but he does remind me of Flutie.

Very good for Stetson. I have to say that Mac Jones fella is a bit concerning.

Yes 68.2 % is pretty good. We need to step up.

I suspect that if we can make him uncomfortable in the pocket, those gaudy statistics will quickly disappear. That’s not to say he is not a really good QB, but when you have all day to throw to really good receivers, a really good QB becomes a Heisman candidate. We were able to get to Burrow last year in the SECCG (just could not get him down) but he was one of the very few you will ever see that can throw like he does on the run. Most mere mortals (Jones included) will become very inaccurate then they have to throw on the run. In addition, Jones is not the running threat that Burrow was.

gameday and CBS… Stetson background stories galore. This is the for real stage. Get that man some red man golden blend. Its so amazingly exciting. Can the dogs not step on it in the spot light? I get chills thinking about it.

He needs to grow a mustache by Saturday.

Yesterday on my weekly sales team video conference, when they turned to me (virtually) and said, “Jared, what’s going on in your world?” looking for a sales update, I just said:
“Not much here, just want to make sure everyone is prepared to congratulate me next Monday after the Georgia Bulldogs beat Alabama this Saturday.”
And my lone SEC-fan co-worker (big UK fan from Kentucky) says, “THAT’S A BIG DAMN GAME!”
And my boss and our other four co-workers were like, “uuuuhhhhhh”.

Barrow was not just good out of the pocket he was great running and throwing. I`ve not seen Jones with a dirty uniform yet.
Lanning WILL change that Saturday.
The biggest advantage Bama has are those NFL receivers. We are not close in matching their talent. Our advantage is on both lines of scrimmage we are better. RB I wish i could say I believe # 3 could like Harris when needed put the team on his back and play ground and pound. This is not Arkansas and White has yet to prove it. He will get his chance Saturday.
The formula has not changed run for 150+ to pass just under 30 times as needed while hitting those deep passes when called on. Avoid stupid penalties and turnovers. You have a great chance to win.
Monken I trust given the chance at a late lead will not sit on it.
