This is a helluva throw.

Good thing Georgia has better inside linebackers than Ole Miss.  They’ll need ’em.

Stetson had one similar against UT, to a receiver going down the middle. Camera angle may make those look better than they actually were.

  2. Yeah, he’s got a cannon and he’s very intelligent. He’s just not very mobile but they’ll definitely try to get the run going to allow down our pass rush. I expect this game to be another coaching chess match and hopefully Kirby has learned from the last couple matches.

He doesn’t have to be mobile when he gets the ball out so quickly. Personally, I think Mac was the #2 QB in the conference last year. And is, without doubt, the #1 QB in the conference this year. High marks for the young man. Runability (athleticism) does not make a college QB, contrary to what the public & talking heads feed us. Give me cerebral with a little athleticism ALL DAY!

I don’t get it. It’s a good throw on time, but it’s a 15-yard cross. It’s a throw 100% of major college QBs should be able to make.

somebody should have jacked his jaws before coming off the LOS, that would make it tougher.

But yeah, that is a tough play to stop if you let the receiver release.

I haven’t been impressed with Cole Cubelic as far as his “analysis” goes. He frequently picks the wrong team to win and is usually high on OLs that end up not being as good as was thought.

Look at how clean the pocket is. He feels very safe. He needs to be fearful every time he drops back or we`ll be picked apart. I trust Kirby and Lanning are on the mother.

Jones has exceeded my expectations so far this year. He’s playing his way into a 2nd or 3rd round pick, which would mean Alabama at one point had 3 QBs on its roster taken in the top 100 picks. Of course, Georgia could tear up that script Saturday.

Amazing he stuck around for the opportunity. College QBs, take note.

I agree. I didn’t think he would be able to hold the starting job. However I will say that Bama hasn’t played anyone with a pulse on the defensive side of the ball yet. If he is a statue in the pocket he will be in trouble.

Right, sure, but tell me about the back-up.

If Bama starts the second half with a back up QB not sure my heart can take that. Either the brown liquor runs out or my heart does. Or maybe the TV dies a sudden violent death.

Doesn’t look all that special to me. He’s a good QB for sure…will be a real test Saturday night..I don’t expect to beat them twice this year…but I do expect once.

Mac Jones was a 3 star coming out of high school. Seems to me you always want a guy or two like that. Not a hot shot who demands to start or he transfers. Develops into a quality backup and if things go well can be a solid starter in his 4th or 5th year. It really pisses me off that not only does Sabin get the 5 star talent , but shit like this goes his way too.

Agreed. Maybe SBIV is that guy. He seems to love being a Dawg and is reaping the rewards for his loyalty. Nothing engenders allegiance to a team more than winning. Kirby is doing just that and building the brand in such a way to stock the types of QB you’re talking about and maybe even 5 star talent that’s willing to ride the pine in order to lead their favorite team.

Yep, and Kirby looks brilliant in bringing back a former walk-on who had left the program and putting him on scholarship, “just in case”. If it wasn’t for Kirby’s attention to detail we would be in big trouble right now.
