All hands on deck

Looks like Georgia will be getting back a couple of key players who should be tanned, rested and ready.

There’s a good chance that Georgia could get a couple of key contributors back for this weekend’s showdown with No. 2 Alabama (8 p.m. ET on CBS). Kirby Smart met with reporters after Tuesday’s practice where he was asked about the statuses of junior running back James Cook and senior outside linebacker Jermaine Johnson. The prognosis on both is positive according to their head coach.

“They both practiced the last two days, they’ve been full go and we expect them to play,” Smart said.

Georgia’s gotten by with significant contributions from others in their absence, but it’ll be good to add both back into the mix, especially Johnson, who, at 6-foot-5 and 255 pounds, is the defense’s biggest outside linebacker.  Might come in handy defending Najee Harris.

Having a big, bruising senior running back or two sure increases a teams chances at winning, eh? Fortunately the Dawgs haven’t forgotten how to tackle.

I don’t know why but i feel more confident going into this matchup with Bama than the last 3 times even though we have a lot less stars at QB than on previous meetings…
We just seem to be mentally tougher because well it is time to fuckin’ eat.

And as soon as Cook gets tackled, he’ll be out again.

Has anyone heard an update on Daniels? I surprised he hasn’t played in mop up duty or a few series.

Seems to me that the Daniels’ card is being held very closely to Kirby’s chest. When SB4 went out for a play, Mathis spelled him. I thought it might be Daniels…but Kirby might not have wanted to tip that he’s #2, and possibly close to being 1 to Saban. I have zero evidence of any of this.
It’s just a thought. But if Daniels HAS been throwing a lot in practice to the likes of Pickens, it will be a twist to put on ‘Bama’s D.

While I hope all the backups get some reps, I’m really hoping Stetson gets the majority of the reps with the first team receivers and backs. Seeing as how he didn’t get any time with the one’s before Arkansas, he has some catching up to do.
