Denial is a river in Knoxville.

Shot.

Chaser ($$).

If Pruitt is right about the gap closing between Tennessee and the teams it envies the most, he’s yet to prove it. He’s coached eight games at Tennessee against its three biggest rivals: Georgia, Florida and Alabama. He’s never come within 22 points of any of them, and three times, his teams have lost by more than 30. His average margin of defeat in those eight games is more than 28 points.

Leave the damned bottle on the bar and go away.

He’s now lost 12 games by at least 21 points, the same number as Butch Jones and Derek Dooley combined.

You know, maybe Fulmer is trying to engineer a return to being UT’s head coach.

And he just signed a contract that would cost UT $15.5MM to buy him out at the end of the year, in a year where they are projecting to lose $9MM on their athletic program.

He will be mumbling that when they show him the door. Put down the airplane glue, Germy.

Pruitt: “I know where our program is headed, and we’ll get there.”

Note to Pruitt: You are there.

Was there best showing against us in 2018? That was the game where they sort of made in close for a while until we scored another TD or two.
From reading Stingtalk yesterday there are some incels and shut-ins who are voicing concerns about Coach All-Star Special.

I agree. I’ve been able to watch 3-4 of Techs games this year and they are as bad as they’ve ever been. BC had several plays on offense where she to the Covid camera in use at the game and the poor play of Techs defense a BC player would run for 10-20 yards with no Tech player in the frame. And their QB (who looks talented) throws some of the most YOLO interceptions this side of Joe Cox.
You really hate to see it for both of those great institutions.

Butch Jones in the ACC probably isn’t a bad thing if your tech.

When you get blown out in your third year at home against a bad Kentucky team with an anemic offense, I think talking about the gap with you rivals should be put on hold

The only gap that is closing is the one from his first day as head coach and his last.
If Fulmer ever thinks there is enough talent on the roster to win the East he will for the sake of the kids hire himself as head coach.

The only gap closing going on in k-town, is the gap of belief that the ut 6 game winning thing was anything at all, other than hope and a few prayers..

  10. Phat Phil as a head coach in today’s world will be like Les Miles at the University of Kansas. Kirby Smart probably remembers what Fulmer did in 1997 leaving Manning in the game against us to pad his stats late. I don’t imagine Kirby would show any mercy in the payback if given the chance.

I’m going to get flack for saying this because “omg third Saturday in October!!!!” But when you’ve lost 13 straight to the other team, it’s not a rivalry, it’s just a regularly scheduled beat down. Rivalry implies some level of parity better yet if both sides are somewhat relevant, and when you haven’t won the conference this century you definitely check neither box. A club and a baby seal skull is more competitive a rivalry than alabama tennessee.

Actually, what the hell am I saying? yes, tennessee is definitely closing the gap and the only person more deserving of a raise and extension than Mullen and grantham at Florida is Jeremy Pruitt and his entire staff.

Only way Pruitt closes the gap is with a better dental plan.

This is a man Fat Phil gave an extension to after winning 6 meaningless games in a row against bad teams to end the 2019 season.

The only reason you dont think the gap is closing is cause you aint never been in the arena.
