It’s simple, really.
As long as I blog, this will never get old.
Have a great day, peeps!

“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23

I”m an old guy. Saw this the first time it aired. To this day, it is the funniest Thanksgiving episode of a comedy that I’ve ever seen. To those that read it; I’m not sure you will see the humor quite as much, but for those who were invested into the show and characters…. I laugh pretty much with tears in my eyes, with the last line in the show being “as God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly”… 🙂

Wild turkeys can. Not sure farm turkeys can even walk much.

1973, in Stuttgart, W. Germany. Not married; living in barracks and in a foreign country. On any given day mess hall food is not great as I am sure some of you will attest, but this Thanksgiving they did it up right. White tablecloths on every table, full fledged dinner with all the fixings, and the battalion commander carving the bird for each soldier. It made being away from home a whole lot easier. This Thanksgiving give thanks and prayers for the young men and women deployed and keeping the fighting out of our country.

If you were in Stuttgart area in 1973 and had a battalion commander, were you at Panzer Kaserne? I was at HQEUCOM and the food was fine there too.

A friend of mine was radio station executive manager and had Les in to do a promotion. I was able to meet him. Great guy and in character all the way including the bandaid on his finger.
