Something else for JT Daniels to adjust to:
News: Georgia center Trey Hill likely out for Saturday's game, could be out longer, after having knees scoped, a source told The Athletic.
Sophomore Warren Ericson likely steps in for Hill, and true freshman Sedrick Van Pran could also get snaps.

This is the high snap of personnel news.

Probably explains some of his problems this season. Likely decided to go ahead and get them worked on so they will be in better shape for the nfl combine (if there is one).

I really haven’t considered Hill going pro but it makes sense, especially since he seems to have gotten the errant snaps taken care of. There are available quite a few underclassmen I could see going pro, which is scary to think about too much. I feel like this season could see the most leave early since Kirby has been here. B

Whatever happened to the center recruit signed out of Alabama a few years ago? I am forgetting his name, but recall he was a 5 star. He ran into some trouble from a locker room incident during his HS season where he, ummmm, used some unusual retribution tactics to teach a lesson to a kid who was constantly taking other players drinks in the locker room?
Has he been moved to guard?

Clay Webb. For some reason I posted this on another page.

Webb has been playing – mainly at guard

They put Clay in at FB for a play last week.

Clay Webb played a lot of guard last Saturday. He was also lined up at FB on one of our rushing TDs.
I’m not surprised to see him finally playing but I am surprised that either he or van Pran aren’t filling in at C. Ericson seems to get overpowered almost every time I see him play. Obviously, the coaches think he’s the best fit, though. C is usually a leadership position so that could also be a factor.

With Hill, Ericson, Webb and Van Prann, center is one position where we shouldn’t have any worries. Heck, that group would be 80% of a fine OL for most P5 teams.

One thing about the OL is we have recruited so damn well. Will be good to get someone else reps for the next three games (fingers crossed we reschedule Mizzou + bowl game). It’s like we have reverse Spring practice now that we aren’t playing for anything.

Mizzou will be everything but easy if they play it.

I’m OK if they don’t reschedule Mizzou. We have more to lose than gain. I’m also OK without a bowl game for the same reason. I would love to end the season on a positive note. Then April’s QBR fun to kick off 2021 the year of the Dawgs.
I hope Monken stays and with his training and JT Daniels work ethic together that gives us a chance for the best offense in almost a decade. I trust Kirby and Lanning to solve our defensive problems. Recruiting at the highest level annually has also been achieved.
Put all that together with our rivals QB loses and other problems we really have just cause to believe it’s finally our year.

What do we have to lose?

I’m more skeptical of the defense. There’s a good chance Jordan Davis goes pro and without him, the defense has struggled.

Which means another wait till next year next year.

Maybe. If Daniels continues to look as good as he has so far or, dare I hope, improves, the offense may be lights out next year. In that case, the defense only needs to be good enough. I think that’s the recipe for success anyway.
There’s also the possibility of one of the blue chip players in the pipeline stepping up to be a monster inside. But I think that’s more of a longshot.

Good. JT needs to see a team with a pulse.

Yeah, I think tough competition is what this team needs. The offense needs reps against a team with a pulse, and the defense has some issues to figure out as well.
