How’s this ($$) for a random data point?
South Carolina has not kicked off a game with a temperature below 43 degrees since the 2010 Papajohns.com Bowl in Birmingham, Ala. It was 27 degrees that day at kickoff. The forecast for Saturday night in Lexington is 28 degrees with the possibility of snow.
The article adds that Mike Bobo, who is used to freezing his ass off at a football game, doesn’t allow ball carriers to wear sleeves because those sleeves can get slick and affect ball security.
Sounds like a fun time is about to be had by all.
They could not stop Georgia’s run game. And what is the one thing that Kentucky has the ability to do? Line up, smack you in the mouth and run it right at you. And that is exactly what they are going to do to South Carolina. They have a veteran O-Line with a nasty streak. I expect them to physically beat up USCjr., all day long. The cold temps will only make the beating that much more miserable.
Games are about matchups and South Carolina does not match up well at all here.

I bet the line at the “Opt Out” window is long this morning in Columbia.

At this point, Bobo would do well to let them wear Pea Coats if they want to. Let the kids be comfortable.

Just saw the Mizzou game could potentially wind up on the 19th, so the Dawgs might get their first snow game in the regular season since…I don’t know when. Ole Miss in 2000 was cold and miserable, but I don’t think it ever turned to snow.

I remember that game. The stadium thermometer said “33” every moment from the 2nd quarter on. And it rained the whole time.

It was straight up frozen rain in the student section for that Ole Miss game. I was only 19 and barely noticed how freaking cold it was.

I had gotten up at 5, deer hunted in middle Ga, drove to Athens, tailgated with some buddies over a tiny camping stove with hot dogs and cold beer. Told them at halftime, even with my hunting clothes on, I was freezing and ready to go, we went downtown and watched the rest from a bar. The coldest I think I have ever been.

That game was awful. I remember Musa Smith basically ran it down their throats to burn almost the entire quarter.

Seems Under Armour would have a cold weather top with some type of grip technology in the arms they could wear. Surprised UA hasn’t come out with something like that yet. They could add another $20 to the price!
